Speaker 1:

On this episode of the Powers Point Podcast, wrestlemania 41 is taken over and we're droppin' bold predictions faster than a surprise cash-in. Jim vanished like a ghost before the bell rang, leaving Scott and Keith to hold down the fort. But halfway through boom he reappears like Houdini, with hot takes and wild theories. It's chaos, it's wrestling, it's the Powers Point podcast style. Let's dive in. Hey, scott, give us a WrestleMania beat Yo.

Speaker 2:

WrestleMania's lit. Vegas inflamed. But hold up, where's Jim? He missed the game. Scott and Keith with the mic calling wild shots, breaking down the matches, connecting the dots. Cena's back, cody's climbing the game. He's spitting heat, never tire. The host went ghost like a magic trick. But the podcast rolls fast, loud and slick. Halfway through, just like Houdini. Jim walks in smooth, all cool and dreamy. Did I miss much? He asks with a grin. Scott's like dude, where the hell you been? Wrestlemania madness, full on blast. Now Jim's back. Predictions coming fast, three mics, one vibe, no script, just fate. Powers Point calling it before it's too late. Whether he vanished, time traveled or just took a nap, jim's back in the booth and we're closing the gap. Wrestlemania 41, powers Point style. Jim's back in the booth and we're closing the gap. Wrestlemania 41, powers Point style. Let's go.

Speaker 3:

Welcome to a bonus episode. We are going to be talking about WrestleMania 41 really quick here, giving our predictions. I got the matches, let's see how the boys Predict and if they come true. So, guys, on night one, the main event, which is crazy, because you would think it would be Jey Uso because he won the Royal Rumble versus Gunther, but it's now not. It's Roman Reigns versus CM Punk versus Seth Rollins in a triple threat match.

Speaker 4:

I think night one is the perfect night for that one.

Speaker 3:

Who do you think man Punk Reigns or Rollins?

Speaker 4:

My guess is that it's probably. I would think it was going to be Roman, but my guess is it's going to be CM Punk because, I don't know, he kind of hasn't had his WrestleMania moment, as they say, and he's probably lobbying for that pretty hard.

Speaker 3:

So I imagine that's where they'll give it to him pretty good when, when, uh, cm punk actually acknowledged the tribal chief, the original head of the table, the big dog, and uh, he made sure to tell paul and roman that that's not the favor. So I'm thinking uh punk as well, because he's been wanting this wrestlemania main event all of his life and now he finally gets it. So how about you, jim?

Speaker 4:

is he?

Speaker 3:

I think he shows up, I thought he was just, I was like man, this guy's ignoring me man, this guy's deep in thought. It looks like it oh, he'll kick in soon here, man. Hopefully I was like there's only three people here. Dude, I will add this in keith, but because god knows I hold on, I'm letting him know he's frozen, because I don't think he knows he's frozen.

Speaker 4:

Right Now. He's just gone.

Speaker 3:

He left man. He said screw this WrestleMania stuff. He probably is going to try to sign out and sign back in. So anyways, keith, just in case I will add this in Let me make sure I get the persistence up on the screen so I know if he tries. So we lost Jim here, but that's okay. It's not okay, but it's okay. Cody Rhodes versus John Cena. We all know John Cena has sold his soul to the Rock. Is John Cena going to beat the Ric Flair's record man and get the 17-time heavyweight championship, or is Cody Rhodes going to stay in?

Speaker 4:

My guess is that John Cena is going to win. I hope so because I'm loving this spin that he took, and his promos on the crowd kind of sound like my rants here at the house sometimes so.

Speaker 4:

I'm digging that, but yeah, my guess is that they're they're gonna give it to them. They're gonna, you know, because they just, for whatever reason, I don't know. If you notice it, in pop culture period they tend to like breaking records. You know what I mean. Whether it's, you know, needed or necessary or not, they like the. So I'm thinking that's what they're going for him I hope so.

Speaker 3:

And then you know, like, get the fans hate him, but then he'll make a save right before like a mic before and turn back to that like the, the face that everybody loved right now.

Speaker 4:

Here's the. Here's the thing, though can in the past year, who would you say, was cody's signature like marquee signature, title defense? Do you know what I mean? Do you understand what I'm asking?

Speaker 3:

yeah, yeah, like who has been his main storyline this year well, I mean, it's insane.

Speaker 4:

As much as he's cool with the belt and all that, it's like, well, you know what, what did you know did what? Has he had? A lot of interesting fucking. You know little heated storylines have gone in the past year. I don't know, man, I don't watch it enough to, for I guess I do watch it enough to feel like I don't, I don't think he has.

Speaker 3:

Well, he's had some big feuds with kevin owens. I mean, they were like off the charts. I thought they killed each other.

Speaker 4:

Kevin owens I think he might have fought drew mcintyre right, and I guess a better question is is that his fault or is that the fault of the rest of the roster? By not stepping up to be that guy to, you know what I mean, because usually it's when people get more invested in and it's when somebody kind of comes up. Do you know what I mean? They didn't used to be that hot. Now they are. You know it's like people can. Oh, I always liked them when they weren't as hot now they are. Now let's see what they can do with it. And I don't, you know, I don't really. I feel like everybody he's gone at it with was, uh, sort of like the people that anybody else in the past five years has kind of defended it against with the same.

Speaker 3:

You know it's cool right, so we both are in agreements with John. I think so yeah how about this one man, tiffany Stratton, vs Charlotte Flair for the WWE Women's Championship? You know what I really like, tiffany, in this match. Charlotte's had her time, but is she gonna go for the record also, because I think she's 11 times champion?

Speaker 4:

does she already have it? I mean, wouldn't she? Wouldn't she already have the?

Speaker 3:

you know, I don't know who has that well, she's just been gone for over a year, you know trying to get, it's not the same no, and she just got divorced right like For real.

Speaker 4:

She's not from Andrade.

Speaker 3:

Yep gone.

Speaker 4:

Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Jesus, you know she comes back and he's there, you know, but now you haven't seen Andrade too much. Now, right, miro's coming back to WWE. Rey Fenix made his debut tonight, so we've got the Lucha Brothers in. Yeah, so I'm hoping Tiffany Str stratton man, because charlotte flair seen her day man and every time she comes back she looks like she's had some more plastic surgery done it's.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, that's it, I guess. Yeah, that's exactly. I agree for that. For that very reason, I think they got a she's kind of there, just for the name recognition. You know what I mean for the match, for the casuals that only watch wrestle and be like, well, I don't know who these people, you know, which is kind of a shame. You know what I mean. But, like, ufc doesn't do that and you see how they suffer. You know what I mean. When it comes to okay, well, they have to put on a pay-per-view and they have to put on. Well, we got to have two title, like the 125 division, who nobody knows who either of those guys are the champion or the challenger, and under that it's like the 135-pound women's division and nobody, and even less people, know who those two are. You know what I mean. But, yeah, they're still charging that $80 for that pay-per-view, whereas I believe WWE has it right with everything being on.

Speaker 3:

Peacock. You know what I mean for one price. Look at how spread out WWE is, as far as we got the pay-per-views on uh peacock. We got uh nxt on cw. We got smackdown on usa. We got raw on netflix like holy cow man. You got aew on tbs or tnt okay and hbo max. I don't even know why they're even dealing with people, because they got some lousy matches, man, and there's no upcoming wrestlers Like yep, like who's going to seem like they missed the plot, man.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, big time, and when, cause Cody would have never put up with that crap. You know being right, you know, especially when Tony Khan doesn't let people like make the cards, you know, do the booking. It's all him, him, and he didn't said in his. You know he used to make this stuff in high school, these matches. Well, he didn't have no wrestling experience. I've made matches, but you don't see me up there starting a league. Of course, I'm around9 billion, but all right With $9 billion, I definitely would be starting a league $9 billion, man, definitely You'd be starting a lot of shit though.

Speaker 3:

So we are in greens with Tiffany.

Speaker 4:

I think so yeah.

Speaker 3:

I agree. Okay, so the next match, we got the winner of the Royal Rumble this year, jey U usul, who is no longer really could be called the main event jay usul, because they kind of bumped him out versus gunther and he's never beat gunther and gunther has kicked the shit out of his brother, yeah, last week and bloodied them all up and and, uh, probably one of the best slaps in the face I've ever seen, man, when jamie uso slapped gunther and it sounded like a whip dude, oh my goodness.

Speaker 4:

And then gunther just smiled, right um, I guess, with that match that I asked you, do you feel like, um, seniority should ever play a difference in in something like wrestling, where it's driven by the fans and the money? I mean sure Jey Uso has been here for how long? But there's like other people, do you understand kind of where I'm going with it. It's like they've been here forever. But if in that 20 years that you've been here, nobody's buying the tickets to see you you know what I mean and you're claiming this person that's only been in there for two years, it's like, well, this person for two years is selling more tickets.

Speaker 3:

Well, it's Jey Uso Sure, he's like one of the number one merchandise dealers.

Speaker 4:

Okay, is he a mover?

Speaker 3:

He's one of the main geek movers, okay, but is he ready to beat Jey Uso versus Gunther at the second match? No, I'm just, it says it's just determining, I'm just going down the line here. So Jey Uso, I am, I don't think he is ready to represent man. I think Gunther, hopefully. You know he has that old style. He gets people to like him and hate him, you know. But I can't see Jey Uso man being the face of the company.

Speaker 4:

Right, right, I think Gunther's got that it factor. You know what I mean For going through. He's got the, got that ed factor, you know I mean for sure he's got the thing what I and who. So obviously he's a great, you know that's. It kind of reminds me like he's got to be a great employee, if that makes sense. Right, there's another. There's another cat that I used to always say about that I used to say, man, that guy's got a bit.

Speaker 4:

You remember adam cole? Yeah, that's what I used to say. I said, man, that dude has to be the model employee. As much push as this man gets, because I don't see anything otherwise. You know what I mean. But he might be, and that's I'm sure that has to play a factor, wouldn't you think? You know, because they talk about when carrie von eric was the world champion, they didn't let him keep it because his reliability wasn't, wasn't solid. You know what I mean. They didn't trust him to do whatever, so he had to give it back right away. That's my kind of figure. I mean it is a job, it's a fun job, but it is a job, you know. So that's what I, when I see guys like that, certain guys that I think. I guess I don't really get the push. They must be model employees.

Speaker 3:

So people tuning in right now. Jim is back and Jim, I'm going to give you the matches we've already talked about. So the first one, Reigns versus Punk, versus Seth. Me and Keith both said Punk who do you think Roman?

Speaker 5:

Reigns.

Speaker 3:

You are a chief person, man Yep.

Speaker 4:

Okay, I'll go ahead and get Angry Grandma on here.

Speaker 3:

Oh, dude, norman Reigns, how about? The next one we talked about was Cody Rhodes versus John Cena. We're both hoping Cena takes the 17th time record and then, like a month or two before he retires for good, then something happens and he turns face, maybe beats Rock's ass for the first time because he hasn't been able to do that, retires for good. Then something happens and he turns face, maybe beats Rock's ass for the first time because he hasn't been able to do that. Who do you think on that? We both said Cena.

Speaker 5:

I'm going, cody.

Speaker 3:

All right.

Speaker 5:

I'm going to go. The upset there, which the champion is upset. That's crazy, right. I see him stopping him. I don't know.

Speaker 3:

The next match we had was Tiffany Stratton versus Charlotte Flair. Both of us are hoping Tiffany Stratton not plastic surgery Flair.

Speaker 5:

Tiff versus Charlotte. You guys go the other way. Huh, Yep. I'm going Charlotte.

Speaker 3:

Give me a Flair, because I think this will be her 12th championship.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, she's got to keep going, man, because everybody hates her so much. She's got to be that big hate that everybody hates and I think everyone's going to be mad about it. But take it away from the little young girl.

Speaker 3:

Then where we are currently Gunther versus Jey Uso. I hope, hope, gunther, keith, you said gunther as well, or as jay uso. Finally, he is oh and three versus gunther, so already gonna let him be wait. What did you guys get? Uh, we both said gunther yeah, I'm taking gunther too. I hope so. I mean Jay's good, but he's better as a tag team wrestler. You know I can't take away from what the Usos did.

Speaker 5:

It was nice giving the Royal Rumble, but I just don't think he can Because he can't really talk and you have to have a talking champion.

Speaker 3:

He can say yeet in so many ways.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, but then the bell rings and then you know, guess what the crowd's bored if they talk about like technical in ring.

Speaker 4:

There really is no one better, though I mean. I mean that cat is as solid as can be when it talks about in the performance aspect of it. You know what I mean. I know I've seen him flub a few things like that, but that's because they do that high risk shit. But you know him and both of those guys and a couple of those dudes like they're seriously solid.

Speaker 3:

You know, when him and Jimmy talk, though on the mic, they're so out of breath because they're so excited and nervous. They're like, hey, yeah, I'm going to come for you. It sounds like they were in a porn movie together, man.

Speaker 5:

Not together. I like the both men's championship. I got the champions keeping their titles. How boring will that be for everybody? Yeah.

Speaker 3:

So, moving on, our next match we got is for the Women's World Championship. We got champion Io Sky versus Bianca Belair. There was a match on Raw last week where Rhea Ripley had her chance to beat Io Sky for the belt and to see who becomes Bianca's opponent, and Bianca was the referee and it didn't turn out well and she disqualified both of them. So are they going to turn this into a triple threat match, because there's already a triple threat men's match, because it seems like it seems like when you have back in the day it was, uh, hell in a cell match, it was the guys.

Speaker 3:

Well, now you got hell in a cell match with the females too. So it kind of takes away the the I don't know man, the excitement, because you've just watched an hour and a half match, you know. So now, because we do for guys, we gotta do the same for the females. Why not come up with something else? So if it does become a triple threat, then I gotta say rhea ripley is gonna pull that one off, if not absolutely. I hope eos guy retains the belt, because I really do like her style of wrestling, I like the japanese style, and bianca's just had her time. But I think naomi's gonna interfere, maybe slow what do you think?

Speaker 3:

or jade cargo probably might be the one to interfere too right, and is bian going to turn heel Finally, because I think she would be a good heel? What do you guys think?

Speaker 4:

As much as I would like to see Rhea win, because I think she's the best thing on the show, I guess period would be, but I still don't think she's going to win it. I think she'll be in the match, but I think Bianca Belair will end up winning the match.

Speaker 5:

Jim, I think Io Skye is going to win because she just got that championship recently and they're not going to take it off her. Secondly, the story outside what you said, scott, bianca's not going to win because Jade or the other one someone will interfere and stop Bianca from winning, or Jade will be beating up Naomi and then they bump in or they do something to make Bianca lose so Io could just walk out of there with it, and then that'll lead up to the next big event, to where Bianca has to deal with whoever both those two or one of those two.

Speaker 3:

Alright. Then the next match we got Well, it's not next, but the next one on the list is AJ Styles versus Logan Paul. Aj has been kind of irrelevant because of injuries he pops in, gets hurt, leaves for a couple months, pops in, gets hurt, leaves for almost a year. And now we got Logan Paul who honestly has got to be one of the most amazing people as far as for how long he's been in wrestling and how much he knows. You know he believes in the old school stuff and honestly he's. If he watches matches, man, he really saves some people. Like ray mysterio could have broke his neck but you know, uh, logan paul like all of a sudden like stumbled forward just to catch ray because he knew that ray was about to eat shit. So you know, like there's a lot of times that he looks so old school wrestling man. But I kind of hope logan paul wins this man um, my guess would be that he will.

Speaker 4:

you know, he's got a mind for it, you for it, he's just good at it. It's kind of what I was saying earlier. Just because he doesn't necessarily have the 15, 20 years experience, it seemed like he walked in his first year with just a mind for it. That they didn't necessarily. It's one of them things you either got it or you don't. You can't manufacture that it thing. I think he's got a lot of it. You know right, he's got a lot of eyes.

Speaker 5:

Who got the last of uh between the two, like the last one up, kind of thing.

Speaker 4:

Um, that won't happen yet Right.

Speaker 5:

We got like two weeks, oh, okay.

Speaker 3:

I didn't know. It's on Easter Day.

Speaker 5:

Oh well, shoot, I'm going to go with AJ. I mean, he's toward the end of his career. I think they're going to give him a big WrestleMania win. Not to mention Logan. Didn't he just win the last, him and Kevin Owens, that one fight recently, or something? It was a huge upset, or something.

Speaker 3:

What.

Speaker 5:

This might have been months ago or even last year, I can't remember.

Speaker 3:

Shoot man. I forgot that one.

Speaker 4:

Oh, they like him for sure.

Speaker 5:

They put him over all the time. I've seen Logan win a lot of not pay-per-views anymore premium events. He's been winning a lot of them, so I think that they're going to have AJ win or something. I don't know.

Speaker 3:

You know it could be his last WrestleMania. Yeah, because it could be his last Wrestlemania the way he wrestles, every match could be his last match because he's always getting hurt. So you're saying AJ and Keith, you and I are both saying Logan. Alright, this one's just announced it is for the WWE United States Championship. We got LA Knight vs Jacob Fatu and I hope that God Jacob Fatu and I hope that God Jacob Fatu wins, because this guy's a beast for his size. And now they're letting him do a lot of promos on the mic and that dude talks street. You know, like no more. I love you, tribal chief. You know none of that. Now he's huffing and puffing and swearing away man, uh, I really hope jacob takes this belt but isn't he like feuding with uh solo?

Speaker 3:

they're getting in arguments, but jake uh, jacob promises to bring a belt back to the family, so solo might interfere with this, you know, and cause jacob to lose I'm saying la night winds that solo interferes, or like something happens up on a banana peel, as they used to say because the last time last week uh, in the back it it was Tama, tonga, solo and Jacob.

Speaker 3:

And Jacob pointed to Tama and said you're either with me. And then he pointed to Solo and he said or you're against me. He's like either way, I'm bringing that belt home.

Speaker 5:

See, I think that Roman's going to win the triple threat and go for the championship against Cody to get it back from him, and I think all the bloodline has to get along and be back with him. You know, as a family kind of thing, for the story to keep going, because that story's gonna go well, january 27th, they were supposed to recognize him as the, the tribal chief, and it never happened so they got to do that again.

Speaker 5:

So I don't see him having a belt and being a solo act no pun intended, but him being by himself separate from the main story of the bloodline.

Speaker 3:

I just think it'll cause more jealousy, you know. And then again Punk still. They still owe him a favor. So everybody's wondering what that favor is. You know, is Heyman going to turn on Roman? You know, because they are, they're both tight, uh. So I got jacob. Who do you got?

Speaker 4:

uh la night and you keith yeah, I'm gonna say la night too, just because it doesn't um. I mean, history kind of tells that they don't tend to put belts on, uh, the bloodline guys. Belts on the bloodline guys, not necessarily the bloodline guys, but the the kind of like more savage acting wrestlers.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

You know what I mean.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, this is true. So, okay, we got two LA nights and one Jacob on order, all right. So we got two matches left that's been announced so far. The next and they're both female matches uh, the next one is for the women's tag team championship. Live morgan and raquel rodriguez, who are the champs versus gauntlet, so anybody can run out there. Oh god, are they strong enough to to take on whoever they got?

Speaker 5:

is that just one team or just several teams? It's several you go into the, the last team in that could that could be because they're partners with uh tna. That could be tna, a tag team, or an, or an nxt tag team coming out. I mean, that could be anybody.

Speaker 3:

You can't really predict that so are they good enough as a team? I mean, I really like live morgan, you know, not just because it's fire, but I like her character. You know rod raquel, ever since she had that disease a couple years ago she hasn't really. She's tough, which doesn't look tough like she used to. You know, she used to be all muscle. Are we? Are we going with the the gauntlet winners, or are we going with the tag champs?

Speaker 5:

I'm going with the gauntlet winners, because it's going to be, it's a, it's going to be a surprise.

Speaker 3:

This is what it's going to be, and then most likely, most likely be four other teams.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, yeah, that'd be my guess. It's going to be a surprise.

Speaker 5:

The odds are better if you take the gauntlet.

Speaker 3:

All right. So again two gauntlets and a Liv Morgan and Raquel, all right. And then our other match. We kind of discussed this. We have a hatred Jade Cargill versus Naomi in a single regulars match. Jade, has she really been doing training, you know, because she's only been doing tag matches and she lost for the first time last week. So has she been at the performance center busting her ass trying to make herself look good? I mean, she's a beast, you know, she is the Black China.

Speaker 5:

What's Naomi been doing in the last couple weeks and months? You?

Speaker 3:

know what, other than the elimination chamber. She hurt Jade Cargill, which put Jade Cargill out for like six months and then admitted it to Bianca and then Jade's just been beating her ass every week. You know what.

Speaker 5:

I predict I'm gonna go with a wild pick here. I'm gonna go, naomi wins. You know why? Because they're gonna bring the women of the bloodline into the the story now. And, uh, your favorite, the jack Jax is going to help her family member win. Naomi win.

Speaker 3:

See, there's like.

Speaker 4:

She's not on the card anywhere.

Speaker 3:

No, no, wow, there's a lot of people back that aren't on the card. Asuka, I think she's back.

Speaker 4:

I can see them being in the gauntlet. I can see them being in the gauntlet. I can see them winning it.

Speaker 3:

Another match that we haven't seen, but I'm sure they're going to have it, is Penta versus Braun Breaker, and that will be for the championship, the Intercontinental Championship.

Speaker 5:

Don't they have a tag team or a ladder match or a battle royal or something?

Speaker 3:

They had a tag. No, they don't have. No, this is all that's just been announced. Okay, this isn't the card. That's only seven matches, so that's like one night right breaking news. Let me uh pop in here, uh, I'm just they. Just after this smackdown, they just updated, uh, the wrestlemania card, so let me see what matches.

Speaker 5:

I thought you were talking about Van Damme or something, yeah.

Speaker 4:

What did he do? They caught him in full splits, oh.

Speaker 5:

I'm the top, rob Van Damme they didn't add nothing else.

Speaker 3:

It says it was updated two minutes ago the matches so I take that back. Folks, there is no breaking news. Oh my gosh.

Speaker 4:

So breaking news is still going to happen.

Speaker 3:

That's our prediction for the seven matches that have been announced. One of us are right right With our picks.

Speaker 5:

Well, there was nine matches announced, nine.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, who's the eight and nine?

Speaker 5:

Roman Cody, uso Tiffany EO, aj LA Knight, tag girls tag team and the Jade Cargo.

Speaker 3:

Okay, so there's nine. So we got like six on one, need, uh like four more on the other. I mean, we don't have solo on this show. We don't have rhea ripley yet on this show or what about?

Speaker 5:

uh, uh, what's his name? We don't have uh, one with that art that drew mcintyre and who, uh, he fought with damien priest. Yeah, damien priest, that's his name. So, yeah, that'll probably be another match announced, but we'll find out, kevin kevin, who he fought with.

Speaker 3:

Damien Priest? Yeah, damien Priest, that's his name. So yeah, that'll probably be another match announced but we'll find out.

Speaker 5:

Wait, Kevin Owens versus Orton Sammy yeah, Orton.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, because Sammy's out of wrestling. There's another wrestler out of the match.

Speaker 5:

I told you about what was going to happen with that, didn't I? No, my prediction. Okay, here app with that, didn't I? No, my prediction that, okay. Here's a prediction I'm gonna say kevin owens versus randy orton. Randy orton starts to uh, looks like he's gonna win the wrestlemania match. All sudden sammy comes down and and everybody, or everybody, thinks he's gonna beat up uh owens. But in fact he turns and uh beats up orton. And then all of a sudden, kevin Owens gets the win and Sammy and Kevin are best friends and he's like you're right, kevin Owens, you were right all along. And Sammy turns bad, goes back with his friend.
