The Power's Point Podcast

Good Things Are Coming Down the Road with Natalie Boutari

Scott Powers and Jim Banks and Keith Maki Season 5 Episode 12

Versatility takes center stage as Natalie Boutari—actor, classical pianist, belly dancer, singer, and filmmaker—returns to the Powers Point Podcast for a captivating conversation about creative evolution and artistic perseverance.

Known to many as Hottie from the TV series "Pink is In," Natalie opens up about her ambitious sci-fi screenplay set in 2080, a world where elites control global leaders and Advanced Extraterrestrial Beings lurk in the shadows. With shooting planned for September, she shares the challenges of independent filmmaking, from budget constraints to the fear of failure that nearly stopped her from moving forward.

The conversation takes a musical turn as Natalie reveals her upcoming track that boldly fuses medieval classical with modern trap beats—another example of her fearless genre-blending approach to creativity. Scott shares a touching story about how Natalie's piano compositions brought his hospitalized father to tears, highlighting the profound emotional impact of her music despite modest streaming revenues.

Through a lighthearted game of "This or That," we gain insight into Natalie's preferences and personality, from her love of theater-sized concerts to her surprising comfort with hot rooms. The podcast takes a metaphysical turn discussing synchronicity and manifestation, with both hosts and guest reflecting on meaningful coincidences that suggest positive change on the horizon.

What emerges most vividly is Natalie's renaissance approach to creativity—refusing to be confined by conventional boundaries while navigating the challenging economics of independent artistry. As the episode concludes with the powerful reminder that "good things are coming down the road, just don't stop walking," listeners are left inspired by Natalie's journey and eager to follow her evolving career.

The final song is called Coming Down by Pheroine featuring Mag-T Dibizoss

Speaker 1:

On this episode of the Powers Point Podcast, we have a returning guest, a musician, an artist, a belly dancer, an actor. She does it all. She is a friend of the show, and I'm talking about the one and only Natalie Butari. You may know her as Hadi from the TV show Pink is In. So, hey, scott, or me drop the beat. Thank you Well, hello, hello. Welcome to the Powers Point Podcast. I'm your host, scott Powers, and with me today is the one and only Toledo's own Glass City Gladiator, Keith Mackey.

Speaker 3:

Good to be back.

Speaker 1:

And unfortunately good old JB will not be joining us today because of, uh, uh, family issues. I'll put it out there like that, nothing like serious, but he's got to take care of his family first, which is cool. And uh, also heath. I've been looking forward to this man. I said she's been going to come back on the show. She's coming back on the show. I say it a lot, but Heidi from Pink is it? And Natalie Batari man, what do you think?

Speaker 3:

I think when you told me you had guests on from Pink, is it? I think she was the first one I asked if you'd had her on, do? You remember that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, and a lot of people don't really truly know how talented she is. I mean, she's a classic pianist and you can watch her videos under her stage name Farrowin P-H-E-R-R-O-I-N-E on YouTube, or you could look her up on Instagram or TikTok. You know, like all of her videos are there, and I've been going to the hospital every day visiting my pops and sometimes, when he gets wound up, I play her piano music.

Speaker 3:

Wow, that's cool.

Speaker 1:

And I even told her. I'm like, hey, my pops got tear in his eye, man Cause it calmed him down, it touched them and uh, she told me to give him a hug, you know. So, uh, yeah, she, she's real cool man and I'm glad she's is back and she'll be joining us in just a few minutes.

Speaker 3:

So, uh, keith, what you been up to for the last week a lot of house, uh, getting the house back together with the parents on the way back from florida soon. So I've been working in the basement, in the yard and whatnot. I had to put a um, some privacy fence back up that I thought maybe some neighborhood kids that kept pushing down. But when I went to to put it back up myself, I caught the wind and you know the wind started to play. I was like you know, so I just I kind of got it left down right now. You know not that that's exciting, but that's really what's been going on through my week, that and trying to get my voice back. So you know, excuse me, I apologize for the sound of it.

Speaker 1:

You know a lot of people. They say what kind of weather you have up there in the midwest? Well, I think we've experienced every season this week. You know, one day was 76, one day was 18 and snowing, one day we got super high wind, autumn weather. Uh, then it's been one of those what uh days where you can wear a hoodie and some shorts and be comfortable. You know, and I'm like, yeah, that's, that's us man, that that is the Midwest.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, robin Williams called it a weather by Sybil.

Speaker 1:

You know, let's just jump to this interview now, man, we're going to take a quick commercial.

Speaker 4:

Speaker 1:

All right on the air with us right now. I'm really excited about this because not only is she a great performer and I'm talking about music, classic pianist, belly dancing I haven't seen that, but I've heard it's great Singer. Did I mention? Classic pianist, actor, and besides all of those titles, I can call her my friend and besides all of those titles, I can call her my friend, so welcome back to the show Natalie Butari.

Speaker 5:

Thank you so much. Appreciate you coming back, so what? Have you been up to in the six months since I've seen?

Speaker 1:

you, whoa, it's been six months already.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, six months yesterday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah well, that don't sound stalkerish or nothing.

Speaker 5:

No, no, actually that's pretty cool. Yeah, I've been working on some projects. I have my own film project right now. I just finished revising the script, so I've been spending a lot of time on refining the script with my co-writer. But basically he started the script and it's also my story, it's our story, but it's a collaboration. We're basically 50-50. Yeah, but yeah, we met at a film network meetup a few years ago and now it's just a matter of pitching it and just getting some funding, because I was warned not to spend my own money on this. So I was warned by many people. Some people are like no, invest in yourself, but I've invested a lot like thousands and thousands on my music and stuff. So, yeah, so this is just a short film right now, but hopefully it's going to be a TV series. I would like it to be a series or perhaps a budget. I mean feature film.

Speaker 1:

Now, we've talked about this before, but if you ever need a guy in the background, don't have to date me.

Speaker 5:

I would love to have you as a role.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I'm there for you, I'm there. That's a good excuse for me to come back to canada yeah, maybe you can play in one of the aliens oh yeah, because I'm weird looking, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 5:

No, no, it's because or you could, you could play uh, other characters too, like um. Yeah, there's a character basically, uh, you know, I I don't want to obviously say too much out there, but basically it's a sci-fi and there's in my, in my story, like this is set in like 2080. And basically elites control the world, including presidents. They're all part of the elites and and so there's a commander of the elites, you know. So that's one rule. And then, yeah, and there's like the, the aliens in in the in the story. They're not called aliens, they're quite something else. Um f f, it I'll just tell you, it's advanced extraterrestrial beings. Aeb, I call it, you know and swearing.

Speaker 1:

A swe is allowed on here, so we're all good.

Speaker 5:

Oh really, oh, fuck yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, there you go.

Speaker 5:

My mom would not be proud of that. She hates. My mom is such a.

Speaker 1:

It's a good thing she don't listen to the show, or good.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, she made this one, though right, she made this one right.

Speaker 1:

I said it's a good thing she don't listen to this show that's funny.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, so I do have like yeah, I do have these the plan to film it in september. That's my goal. Um, so that's one thing, and I'm about to release another track which I was supposed to already release but I kind of kept it like in the vault. But it's a very unique track. It's so unique that it'll definitely be criticized because it's different. It's so different, it's like take medieval music.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Mix it with trap music.

Speaker 1:

Okay, it's like a medieval classical trap song.

Speaker 5:

I'm also using my british accent in it. You know, I'm rapping in kind of my british accent.

Speaker 1:

It's really weird, you know hey, it sounds good to me already, you know. But you know I uh, I always try to mix different genres of music. I send them to you, you know. So like you're the only other person next to Keith that I send stuff to all the time. But anything you do I said yesterday on the social media, everything you do is gold to me, you know.

Speaker 5:

Yes, thank you.

Speaker 1:

You know, like I told you yesterday, my dad, when I have to calm him down at the hospital, I play your piano music and honestly it touches him, you know. And then next thing, you know, he just calms down. You know so.

Speaker 5:

I feel like I fulfilled my life purpose. Honestly, Since you told me that I felt like my life was complete, Like, honestly, that means so much to me. I'm not going to be emotional right now, but yeah, that means a lot to me, you know, especially my stuff's monetized right and I released it a few years ago and I just checked my balance $20.

Speaker 3:

Oh, there you go.

Speaker 5:

I made $20 from streaming.

Speaker 1:

Right on it. I probably streamed the shit out of your stuff, but, like you seen Keith's acting Ro on Instagram the other day, when he did the commercial and you commented on it and has great guests on that, was him sitting in the chair.

Speaker 5:

I love it. You guys are amazing and you're talented with your music too.

Speaker 1:

I appreciate it. I am going to be recording a short commercial video parody this weekend. I'm filming it and going to try to put it together, so it's kind of like my audition for you.

Speaker 5:

I love parodies.

Speaker 1:

Oh, this is going to be a great one. I'm excited to see it. Uh, so what else you've been up to like? When's this track getting released?

Speaker 5:

yesterday. I mean I need to. Why did I procrastinate? It was ready already, like by december. It was already ready. Actually, you can hear it. I have my friend. I have a show coming up May 3rd and there's a. You may have noticed the flyer on my Instagram and it's like a video promotion for the event and they're playing that song. My song is actually already out there, it's just not officially released.

Speaker 1:

Um, yeah, you know, I gotta, I gotta say that the last time you were on, which was almost a year ago, you were procrastinating putting out the song, or that you were in with ice, the, the. Oh, what's that song, the icy one? Yeah, yeah, because you were waiting for your friend to put that track out, you know, and, and you said it was supposed to be out and it's supposed to come out soon, and that was the last episode.

Speaker 5:

Now, this episode, we get to wait for your new one oh yeah, and the icy one is, of course it's out already, but the guy um, I tried so hard to even get the video going. Someone offered to do it for free and for some reasons like uh, it just didn't.

Speaker 1:

It would have been nice to do a video for it, but anyway, now, do you feel like you're going to be directing, you're producing, uh, this upcoming short film? Do you feel like a lot of people seem to let you down, like in like I have like three or four friends that I can absolutely count on, you know, and a lot of people around that little circle says, yeah, I'll do it, I'll do it, and then they disappear? Do you find that, as a performer or you know, like I'll be at your concert and they never show up?

Speaker 5:

Oh, I like this question, this industry. As we all know, it's just riddled with trust issues, all kinds of stuff, right? So, aside from being rejected a lot, I haven't really felt anything yet. I didn't feel any betrayal yet when it comes to my project, because it's still a bit premature. But perhaps once it starts getting rolling I will see how people act. But so far people are all excited and I already have people who want to act in it and everything, and I have a couple producers who are willing to work with me. So far. So, so far so good. But I am prepared because, yeah, there may be some no-shows, who knows, right?

Speaker 1:

And you're saying September, you're starting this film in.

Speaker 5:

I don't know. Fingers crossed, I hope so. I mean, I would like earlier. I just need funding you. You know, right now it's like maybe I don't need any more than 20,000, that's for sure. So that's like the cap. So at least it's not crazy. But I'm trying to like I've actually reduced the script originally it was 18 pages, now it's 13 pages and I reduced some things like there's no stunts anymore, so that's already like cut down the cost a lot, like I've. I basically was able to reduce the budget so far, and there's like a few investors right now who are waiting for my pitch deck. So pitch, deck, deck, because I know it sounds like dick yeah, I gotcha, hey.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, let let me know because, like my passport's up in November and, uh, I'll try to, I'll try to renew it. You know before that obviously yeah, you better just kidding no, like like you have been so awesome.

Speaker 1:

I'm telling you, I'm really glad our relationship as a friend has like progressed. You know you invited me bowling in toronto and you know, like it was just really awesome. You know, the first night I was just like I'm just going to stay in the hotel, uh. So, but yeah, you, you've you've done some amazing things and, honestly, I I really look forward to whatever you put out there and everything's been great.

Speaker 5:

Oh, I'm so happy to hear that you know you're one of my favorite people of all time.

Speaker 1:

Oh shucks.

Speaker 5:

It's true, you're so encouraging like, truly encouraging, genuinely, such a good support to me. You know.

Speaker 1:

Hey, you know our conversation that we had yesterday. Uh, we were talking about like, like, uh, wanting to work more and all that, and uh, our our other co-host, jim, he gives the quote of the week. He sent me the quote after we already talked and I didn't even talk to him and it was weird because it's what we talked about and I was like this is like honed in and I, honestly, when he sent it over, I thought of you and I'll give it after this, at the end of this episode. But we got some questions for you. We're going to play a little game, okay.

Speaker 1:

Well we're going to do some this or that's okay with you. So he'll give you, he'll give you some choices and you have to answer, without really thinking about it, which one you would rather do.

Speaker 5:

All right, I love this.

Speaker 1:

All right, keith hit it.

Speaker 3:

Okay, Since we're already on the subject of music 90s hip-hop or current hip-hop.

Speaker 5:

Current hip-hop.

Speaker 3:

Okay, see, I myself would pick 90s I love, or current hip-hop, current hip-hop. Okay See, I myself would pick 90s. I love. Ll Cool J, public Enemy. Those are my favorites.

Speaker 5:

Oh, I love 90s hip-hop, don't get me wrong.

Speaker 3:

No, I understand. Yeah, you have to pick one that's better. It obviously doesn't mean the other one's bad, theater-sized concerts or arena-sized concerts.

Speaker 5:

Theater-sized yeah, A theater size concerts or arena size concerts Theater size.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I agree, me too.

Speaker 1:

It's more, it's more personal.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's way more intimate. I actually got to see the Smashing Pumpkins back in 96 when they were supposed to do two nights at the Palace at Auburn Hills, but the second night wasn't selling as good as the first, and so they gave us the option of either nosebleed tickets at the first night or tickets at the State Theater, which was pretty much a no-brainer for me.

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, I love them so much, I'm so jealous that you saw them live yeah it was great.

Speaker 1:

I mean, billy Corgan basically lives in chicago, not too far away from me, so oh really, his new wife, uh, she owns a like a tea house yeah, you guys, madame zuzou's, yeah, yeah, okay, free publicity for for big bill, but you know, and he owns all the wrestling. Nwa wrestling. All right, keep us up.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 5:

Role in a major movie or number one single Role in a major movie.

Speaker 3:

Restaurant food or home food?

Speaker 5:

Home food. I didn't even have to think about it.

Speaker 3:

That's good. Okay, and with that I guess Spanish cuisine or Asian cuisine that's hard that is yes.

Speaker 1:

I love both Asian alright, I did that too.

Speaker 5:

I mean, I love Spanish food. If I had to pick one Asian good stuff, okay, day at the beach Spanish food.

Speaker 1:

If I had to pick one, Asia yeah.

Speaker 5:

Good stuff Day at the beach or day at the mall.

Speaker 3:

Day at the beach Moderately successful touring act or extremely successful local act.

Speaker 5:

Moderately the first one.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Moderately. Can you explain why? Elaborate maybe a little about what's it? Was it, maybe seeing the world would be better than just just getting paid and having a bigger audience?

Speaker 5:

all right, no, you don't mean it's smaller, you know I actually, I changed my mind yeah because touring worldwide but not making enough money would be way more of a struggle than making good money like locally. So yeah, I changed my mind.

Speaker 3:

Actually yeah, see, I kind of don't understand why more acts don't go for that, why you know me, why there aren't more, uh, bigger acts that maybe refuse to tour that would say, well, no, if you want to see us, you got to see us here and you know I was thinking just now like the bigger you are, the more fake people you have in your life, right, you know?

Speaker 1:

so I and that's bad juju all together.

Speaker 5:

So I, I wouldn't even want that yeah, no, juju, I loved using that term see we're on a safe way in Lake here. Bad Juju.

Speaker 3:

A thought-provoking conversation or mindless fun conversation.

Speaker 5:

Thought-provoking.

Speaker 3:

Sports cars or luxury cars?

Speaker 5:

Luxury cars, baby.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 1:

Like what would you roll in?

Speaker 5:

I don't care about sports much, to be honest.

Speaker 1:

A Rolls Royce.

Speaker 5:

Except wrestling, I love Bugattis. I know it's the most expensive car, but you know Bugattis. Mclarens and Rolls Royce also yeah, but my favorite is and Rolls Royce also, yeah, but my favorite is Bugatti and Lamborghinis.

Speaker 1:

See you fit inside all those.

Speaker 5:

Like taller guys like us, we don't fit in the Lambos. Oh yeah, I've ridden in a Ferrari.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's nice, yes.

Speaker 5:

We accelerated in the you know where princess diana died, in paris. Yeah, we rented out a car uh, ferrari and my with my ex and he drove it so fast, like he accelerated so fast, that I was like in the video, I'm like screaming, it's, it's hilarious wow, in the same place that she died.

Speaker 1:

Yep, good thing the pappos weren't chasing you like I loved.

Speaker 5:

I know it's a little uh facetious, but you know what else keith?

Speaker 3:

okay um make someone think or make someone feel. Oh, sometimes, when you make someone feel, they're not always thinking right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

But like I'll take my pops, for instance man, he felt her music. Yeah, you know he felt he didn't have to think about it and he got teary-eyed. You know Like he absorbed it, it was weirdeyed. You know like he absorbed it, it was weird wow, I wonder which song it was you. You were doing warm-ups on a piano and you were doing some compositions on a piano on youtube oh, like beethoven yes, yes, beethoven oh, that's right, yeah, he called it.

Speaker 5:

I don't know, the video guy called it warm Beethoven. Oh that's right, yeah, he called it. I don't know, the video guy called it warm-ups for some reason. That's lovely, okay, yeah, so for me I would pick feel it's definitely like a stronger, I think a stronger emotion, but it's a great question.

Speaker 1:

It's more bonding from far away. You know you can make people feel the music that you feel. You can make them feel what you feel. It would be an incredible thing.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, like as an actor, for example. Yeah, you know I want people to feel emotional when they see my acting, like feel happy, sad, whatever, because thoughts are great, but then feelings like it's, I think, stronger.

Speaker 1:

Because you'll remember a feeling over a thought. You know like every time that TV show, that song or whatever comes on, you're not going to remember what you were thinking, You're going to remember how you felt.

Speaker 5:

That's true, very true.

Speaker 1:

What's got you?

Speaker 3:

Actually there goes with another question. If you remember, I asked somebody else from Pink is in, was on and said do you have a question for him? I says yeah, do you think it's better to have a flawless performance or a convincing emotion in your, in your? You know, I in your is the which. Do you go for more? I guess, and so I guess that would be that one. And then I think Scott does more or less, and now I'm not. I'm not asking her that.

Speaker 5:

Lawless. Hmm, that's the only form it's in my eyes.

Speaker 3:

Yes, ma'am, oh, I am.

Speaker 5:

And versus.

Speaker 3:

Convincing emotion. Emotion maybe. Maybe mistakes or two in the dialogue are not necessarily done exactly two direction, but it conveys something maybe a little stronger than what you, what you chose to go with, or do you prefer, you know.

Speaker 5:

I mean, obviously they're both necessary and they're both very good, but again, like you know, if we're choosing one here, if we're choosing one here, um, I would say flawless, because if the performance is flawed, then I feel like that would impact the quality of the emotion invoked also I would think I would.

Speaker 1:

I would think I would think also, like if you had the flawless or if you got flaws in your performance, people watch it and if they don't edit it out, they're going to be like she messed up you know, and they wouldn't know necessarily. But right Right.

Speaker 3:

OK, brutally honest or casually suggestive I tried to not use the word suggestive here, but I get. But do you understand what I'm saying? Ok, like brutal honesty or or polite Well, you know kind of shit like that.

Speaker 5:

I'm a bit of a people pleaser, so the secondary one.

Speaker 3:

OK, I understand that. I understand that brutal honesty. Now I Brutal, unethical newsy.

Speaker 1:

Now I know why she's so nice to me.

Speaker 5:

Oh my god. No, I'm just kidding. Okay, but I just want to clarify something though. Okay, I am not a fake person, however, like, for example, if someone really bothers me or I don't like their energy or anything, I avoid them. Yes, yes, but I'm still nice. However, someone crosses me or disrespects me, I will be brutally, honestly, rude to their face. Okay, if they're rude to me good answer so I still stand up for myself.

Speaker 5:

Somehow you should, yeah, as I should, as we all should, I mean um, I don't know, okay, uh amazing range.

Speaker 3:

As far as singing, I guess goes uh amazing range or undeniable hook hmm, I love those questions, thank you.

Speaker 1:

That's why he's on my team.

Speaker 3:

That's why I insisted on writing them myself, right, scott?

Speaker 5:

I would say the hook. You know why? Because a really catchy hook. What was the word you used? Again, Undeniable undeniable. That means like it would be something incredible like this, the hook, that could make me more money than my, I think my range and anyone could sing along to an undeniable hook, whereas not everyone can catch that range yeah, yeah, good point you don't want them to try, not everyone.

Speaker 1:

It's like a dj everybody. You know they can have a good set, but when they do the drop, you know that drop just makes everybody go wild. You know they're going to remember that. So, yeah, that's a good answer again.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I would love to have Mariah Carey's range at her prime. Oh jeez, yeah, I think she can hit like eight octaves.

Speaker 1:

Crazy, crazy the one they call like the whistle octave can hit like eight octaves, crazy, crazy.

Speaker 3:

The one they call like the whistle octave or something like that. Yeah, if she busts really high, they call that something like that. They call it the whistle octave, I think.

Speaker 1:

When she hits a high C, then she could bust a window on that thing. So that's amazing, actually, like a superpower, you know. Like do it in a store and knock the windows out.

Speaker 3:

Right, I haven't hit the high C in years. I used to love cracking into the. Can you know what I mean? The active puller.

Speaker 1:

Orange high C got it yeah.

Speaker 3:

That blackberry kind they had. I don't even know what they call it. That stuff was delicious, though. Do they have high C in Canada? What's that? Do they have ic in canada? It's a juice here it's like it's kool-aid it's like kool-aid.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I don't, I don't recall that name, okay, okay no interesting high c okay yeah, it's just hi dash c oh, I know something c, but I don't know if it's high c. I think it's another c I I'm not sure.

Speaker 1:

You'll have to get your passport and go up there and check it out, man, yeah, I'm supposed to be heading to the States next Friday actually. Really when at now?

Speaker 5:

Well, florida, because my brother's getting married. Well, he's already technically married, but it's their wedding.

Speaker 3:

You know every time you say that my parents have a place in St Cloud actually.

Speaker 1:

Oh, every time you say you're coming to the States, I'm like, okay, she's coming to Chicago. And then I'm like, oh, florida, fuck Florida.

Speaker 5:

I'm so sorry. It's where my brother lives Orlando.

Speaker 1:

Right, you'll be here sooner or later.

Speaker 5:

I know I plan to this year actually. I'm here, so keep the ice yeah, I need to go, like California, to take care of some music video business with Snoop Dogg, but that's another story for another time that means you're going to have to come back on here, mm-hmm, and you're always welcome.

Speaker 3:

What else, keith, that was 14, buddy. But I got some of the other ones that I said what I was calling the torture questions. See, I thought those were more like the fun ones to answer, but I got some, I guess, that are regular, more like would you rather this or that, or you know. I mean you got time for a couple more questions. Yeah, okay, um 30 days of only hearing the same song on repeat, or 30 days?

Speaker 5:

of only eating the same food for every oh, 30 days of listening to the same song.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Because I'm such a foodie. I mean I love music, but like I'll be so sick of the same, like I would not, even if I had to eat the same thing for 30 days. I mean, like, depends on what it is, I guess. But yeah, if I had to pick one, it would be the song for 30 days. Is it all day or just once a day? Sorry, I guess, but yeah, if I had to pick one, it would be the the the song for 30 days the same, but is it all day or just once a day?

Speaker 5:

Sorry.

Speaker 3:

Uh, it would be whenever, I guess whenever you listened to me or whenever you did anything include, you know, any television time, music time, it was the same song. Oh yeah, oh wait, it never really know what song it is. It could be like I don't know, I don't. I would say somebody, but it's. It's like saying something mean about somebody that I don't know. So what? If so long you maybe aren't all that fond of I.

Speaker 5:

So I have a a sort of a specific question about this question. Um, if you said the same meal, just one meal a day, can it be the my favorite meal, or it has to be something like?

Speaker 3:

absolutely. But that's breakfast, lunch and dinner. That's everything you, you, you eat for the whole 30 days.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, see I guarantee, I guarantee, after those 30 days that ain't going to be your favorite food, no more right, that was thinking how you could deconstruct something you know, because I love, uh, pizza with pineapple on and I thought, well, if you had that, then maybe you could pull the pineapple off and have that for breakfast and then have something else for lunch and then finish the pizza for dinner, and it would almost give you some variety. But that's, that's kind of cheating the question.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, that's, that's what I was thinking. Well, you know what? I'm okay with the song choice, because I'm okay to like hearing the same song again, again, doesn't really bother me.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, even if I hate it Is there a song you had in mind?

Speaker 3:

if you had to choose one that you think you could do it with? Is there one you think you could make it the whole 30 days?

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I love this song so much. I listen to it all the time and I'm never sick of it. I love that song.

Speaker 1:

Awesome. Who's the artist?

Speaker 5:

I think his name is Charlie Black.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'm writing it down, because I'm always looking for stuff.

Speaker 5:

You know this song.

Speaker 1:

No, I don't know that song.

Speaker 5:

I'm sure you recognize it. I'm sure you recognize it. It's really fun. It's like a dance hall. It's just so fun, it makes me so happy and I guess I'd pick that one. But I love all kinds of music and and it's really a hard question, but that's okay.

Speaker 1:

I got it written down, so as soon as we're done here, I'm going to go find it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, it's a very joyful song. It's very fun and joyful. Yeah, gotcha Hit it. Keith.

Speaker 1:

All right. Well, what would you do? Do?

Speaker 3:

you have one Scott, all right. Well, what would you do? You have one Scott? Would it be something from the this is your segment, man? No, I'm just curious, what would you assume Take?

Speaker 1:

one, would it be a trap Because you had some hips on. You know what I love the hip, tragically, tragically, hip is like my favorite group.

Speaker 1:

You know, of course they're Canadian. I actually have sentimental value to them and it's really weird. But no, I think, I think, uh, tragically hips, uh, it's a good life if you don't. Weekend is my favorite song of theirs, so I know I don't get tired of it. Amazon music at the end of the year tells me I don't get tired of it because I play it so damn much. So yeah.

Speaker 1:

This is good. It has a really intense message. You know like go somewhere where you're needed, go somewhere to grow, find a place you're needed. It's very, very, very like motivational that's wonderful and the guitar is so awesome and it's ridiculous yeah, I love their song ahead by a century.

Speaker 5:

Personally I love that one too yeah, I love all like they're amazing. Yeah, they're amazing.

Speaker 3:

Rest in peace, gord, absolutely okay, let me see sleep in a cold room with no blankets or a hot room, on a leather couch hot room leather couch you're going to get sticky on the couch though oh well, I'll wear pajamas

Speaker 5:

oh, okay I'll wear like silky pajamas or something light, because I love sleeping in hot heat. I know it's weird. Like most people like to sleep when it's cooler for me, I love the heat so well.

Speaker 3:

Not like outdoors heat where it's like the sun is scorching, but like when I'm I like to be warm, you know yeah yeah see we have the air conditioner going in a bedroom all winter long because my wife insists on sleeping in an ice cold room wow see, yeah, I know some people are like that, like yeah, it's um, it's very interesting so it's not my preference. I would. I would prefer at least maybe somewhere in the middle of that.

Speaker 5:

I'm sure you have some blankets all set up.

Speaker 3:

You wouldn't believe the amount. You wouldn't believe the amount. And my mom makes blankets as a hobby, so there's even more.

Speaker 5:

Oh, perfect, that's good to read.

Speaker 1:

Final two questions, Nat Okay.

Speaker 3:

Watch a concert where the singer's mic is too low to hear them, or the same concert where someone is singing behind you too loud that's annoying, no, no definitely the the first one, because because the person's voice that's too loud it's gonna really distract me, but at least if it's quiet.

Speaker 5:

I mean, if it's not a good quality sound, at least it's better than hearing some other right, oh, I've been in both situations.

Speaker 3:

I saw imperial teen and the main person. You could not hear their mic and this was a club which is like a club. Club is very small enough to where I could talk to him while they're sad. I says, hey, man, I can't hear you, so I don't think anybody can hear you. And he says I think it's where you're standing, maybe walk around the club and here. And then like, third time he was after finishing the song and he was like thank you. And I says, man, we can't hear you. And then he's, you know, insisted that it was where I was standing and I turned around like to Rest of the audience, says can anybody else hear him?

Speaker 1:

And they all said no, and then Keith got kicked out.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, exactly, oh wow.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that must have ruined the experience a little bit. It wasn't the greatest, I'll be honest. Okay, we got one more then.

Speaker 1:

Yep, last one, make it great.

Speaker 3:

Let me see Watch a movie in a theater with a kid kicking your chair the whole time or a dude laying way back too much in your chair the whole time.

Speaker 5:

Like leaning back, like in front of me.

Speaker 3:

The person in front of you is leaning back way way too far.

Speaker 1:

Say like if you were on an airplane. This is the situation I'm thinking of the person in front of you got their damn chair pushed back leaning and it's almost on your knee, especially when you got your tray down, or some little brat behind you kicking the back of your seat.

Speaker 5:

No, definitely the brat kicking the seat. I cannot take that Someone in front of me, no problem, I'm short anyway, so I'll put up with it, but anyone kicking my seat, it puts me in severe rage mode.

Speaker 1:

Oh jeez yeah.

Speaker 5:

So definitely no doubt there.

Speaker 1:

Do not piss the Egyptian off.

Speaker 5:

I'll release my snake on them.

Speaker 1:

How's Bella doing?

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, she's good. She's like 12 years old now. She's good yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know my dad. He kept looking at the video with you with Bella on their wrist, and he's like that looks like a snake. I go you're right, that is a snake. And he goes it's just sitting there. And I go I know that's what the I got excited and hit the stupid space with her.

Speaker 3:

She didn't like the story.

Speaker 1:

No like my dad seen you, you know, and you were like dancing, you know, and he's like wow, foxy.

Speaker 5:

Oh, wow, that's so cool. Yeah, like my snake, didn't? She didn't move around. She just maybe she was scared, but she like clung on to me and she wouldn't move around. She just maybe she was scared, but she like clung on to me and she wouldn't move.

Speaker 1:

So you know, in that that video did you have blonde extensions and or did you dye your hair blonde at the time? Oh really, it looked really good on you.

Speaker 5:

Thank you.

Speaker 1:

You've done a few things in acting. What's pushed you outside like your boundaries? I know Hottie had to push you outside your boundaries, your comfort zone, a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

But how was that? I mean, you got Pip Barnett in a bear costume and they got the bad boy sessions. Does your parents watch that and say you know, agree with that role? Or because you said that they're very conservative. But do they? Do they not like hottie?

Speaker 5:

well, my mom actually watched the episodes when she was visiting here and we had like a theater thing going and and they played a few episodes and she saw him and she went, but then she didn't make a big deal of it but she, she saw the, the sexual innuendos and all that.

Speaker 1:

So she was like hmm, but she wasn't like too pissed off is there any like uh bucket list, things that you would love to do or collaborate with or sing in a venue? Is there anything on your bucket list?

Speaker 5:

oh yeah, I want to sing in all the big venues, like you name it, like I'll sing in any big venue. I just want to be out there. Honestly, I just want to get a role, like even if it's a voice acting role or a commercial or a movie, I just want to get something, because so far, the last two years, I've been auditioning and got nothing. So actually, wait a sec, I was part of something. Yeah, it's a very interesting movie. Actually it's a short film, though. It's a very low-budget short film, but they upgraded a bunch of us because we had to do something like kind of culty. It was like a cult thing kind of, but in a very interesting way.

Speaker 1:

So that was kind of exciting but you were in sucks to be us as well as sabine you know what?

Speaker 5:

yeah, where's that? At yeah, like ideally it was supposed to be out but due to a lot of issues she had to go through, it's being delayed, but she says she's working on it, so there's hope.

Speaker 1:

You know, I've yet to ask her to come on the show, and I should, because she does some really cool stuff as well.

Speaker 5:

She's awesome.

Speaker 1:

And I know she's a friend of yours and I'm like waiting for her to announce that comes out, because Trish is in that too, isn't she?

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I'm just hoping, I'm just hoping.

Speaker 1:

It looked really good from the still pictures. I mean, you vampires were effing gorgeous. You know like it looked really cool, the pictures that Sabine posted and I was like man, I got to watch that. I got to get that whole cast on.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I played him human in it, but it's a really funny scene.

Speaker 1:

Now are those short episodes as well, or normal-sized episodes.

Speaker 5:

Actually, I don't remember. To be honest, I think they're shorter.

Speaker 1:

It's been a while since she filmed a couple years but definitely waiting for that While you're on with this, I don't have any more questions at the moment, but I just want to give you what our co-host said for a quote, just so you can see we're all on the same vibe here.

Speaker 5:

Yep.

Speaker 1:

I'm just pulling it up here. Yep, on the same vibe here. Yeah, I'm just pulling it up here. Yeah, so his quota this week is good. Things are coming down the road.

Speaker 5:

Just don't stop walking.

Speaker 1:

Good things are coming down the road and I kept telling you good things are coming, you know, and then he's sending that and I'm like and I even told keith, I'm like, yeah, freaking a like I just told, I just told her that good things are coming to war and uh, that was only between you and I.

Speaker 1:

And then jim sent that quote and I was like, wow, like we're one in nature here yeah, wow, this is very uh serendipitous yes, yes, like, and I was like this is blowing my mind because, like the things we like, yesterday, just things were happening and it was really awkward to me, like a song I haven't heard since the 80s popped on in five different locations and I was wondering if it was a message. It's the group, mr and Mr's Broken Wings. I have not heard that song since the 80s and I went to the gas station I was playing. I went to work it was playing. I went to the hospital it was playing. And it was really weird which song?

Speaker 5:

Is it the Broken Wings?

Speaker 1:

It's called Broken Wings Wow.

Speaker 3:

I haven't had that song in my head since you told me that. I'm just walking around all day with the bass line going in my head Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Come on man, boom, boom boom boom, yes, yes.

Speaker 1:

And then, like I was talking to one of my drivers and keith, you know, like two separate conversations, and they both threw the same word at me at the same time in two different conversations and it was really and it just stopped and I was like what the hell is this about, you know, because my driver never just says really, you know. So I was like what the hell is this about, you know, because my driver never just says really, you know.

Speaker 5:

So I was like man, this is weird. I believe that these little nuggets of coincidences are sort of a slip. I feel like it's like the crack of the manifestation, the frequency and manifestation process, like because sometimes when you think about something and you keep thinking, it happens. But it doesn't always happen right away, but sometimes there's a subject that comes out of nowhere and then your friend suddenly talks about it like or like you think of someone you haven't seen in so long and then they call you or like like.

Speaker 1:

I feel like those are like little cracks in this continuum of you know, and this is why I told you, I feel, when I and I think about you, that that sounds kind of creepy, but like I think, yeah, I know good things are coming for you. You know you are too damn talented to to it it for it just to be sitting on the shelf in life, everything that you do is awesome, like acting, the piano playing, my God.

Speaker 5:

Oh, thank you so so much. It means a lot to me and and other people do recognize it too. Just you know, and it's great, and I shouldn't let anything negative discourage me, that's for sure. I'll just keep going Because I love it anyway. I love acting, I love music.

Speaker 1:

Just throw that bad juju out the window and concentrate on the friends that are feeling this vibe and jump on this vibe with us, because you're the person that we're like. I don't know, man, I I just know it's coming for you, I just know it is oh, fingers crossed, uh, may god's will be done like I said, if you get too big, us publicist right here and and I would do it for you.

Speaker 5:

Oh well, you know what? You're already number one on my list. You know, if that ever comes up, you'll be my publicist. It's sold.

Speaker 1:

You're hired. You heard it here. I'm leaving that in. No, but, natalie, I really really appreciate you popping back on with us. I know time's precious, I know you're a night owl too, you know so, but we we appreciate you, and Jim said he was sorry that he was unable to be here to talk to you today with us.

Speaker 5:

Well, that's okay, I forgive him.

Speaker 1:

I'm just kidding, and for those people that may have not listened to the first time Natalie was on, it was May 10th. You can find her at Instagram P-H-E-R-O-I-N-E Farrowin. You can find her on YouTube. Watch her videos. They're incredible. Like her, follow her, share her with your friends. That sounds kind of greasy too, man. Sorry.

Speaker 5:

I love it.

Speaker 1:

No, but his mind right there. You're the one that said it. I did, hey, I said share with my share with your friends. But uh, go, supporter, you know what? And I I believe you should start a gofundme and let's get this thing kicked off with for funding for your. I meant there's been a couple other canadian actresses that come on the podcast with their GoFundMe and they got their stuff filmed.

Speaker 5:

So you know, you know what to do that. I'm on it because the fear of failure is what's been holding me back, but I'll tell that fear to F to fuck off.

Speaker 3:

There you go and a way of looking at it possibly is, uh, a monetary successful actress and a less than successful actress monetarily is still an actress. You're still in the game. I mean, you're still making, you're still doing what you love, you still what you know, the, the money part you know, I mean is is maybe a side thing of of being who you want to be. You know, if that makes sense.

Speaker 5:

No, absolutely Same with music, like yeah, I'm not making a lot, but that's okay, I'm just, it's just my love, my passion.

Speaker 3:

Right, well, so do you want to be a musician? You want to be a rock star? Because it's really, they're very different.

Speaker 5:

right, they go hand in hand, but they are very different yeah, I don't know if I want to be too famous, though, but like I wouldn't mind being known enough that I'm making a good living, that's yeah, getting your bills paid to do it, that's the dream, right well, you don't want people like running up to you like uh, asking for autographs and then going ahead and ebay and selling all those making money off of you, like a lot of artists do.

Speaker 1:

That's just ridiculous, but uh yeah good, good things are coming for you, man and I. I you're like one person that I really feel that oh man, that means so much to me.

Speaker 5:

Thank you so much, and thanks for having me on your podcast again.

Speaker 1:

This is really um incredible that I can't even thank you enough and once you you get the GoFundMe started, you have to come back on here so we can get that promoted.

Speaker 5:

Okay, will do.

Speaker 1:

All right, so we will talk to you later and again, natalie. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Natalie Batari.

Speaker 5:

Thank you.

Speaker 1:

All right, everybody Again. That was Natalie Batari.

Speaker 5:

I'm here whenever you need me, so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or need assistance.

Speaker 1:

And my AI just starts talking to me. Man.

Speaker 3:

That's great, See. That's foreshadowing for whatever the upcoming AI show.

Speaker 1:

You know, I didn't even ask her about AI what she felt about it, because some people are cool with it. Ask her about AI what she felt about it Cause some some people are cool with it, like like mine. I write the lyrics and then have them polish it and and music and sing it. I can't sing, so uh what'd you think?

Speaker 3:

Here's the thing for any of the people that have, uh, something to say about it they have the opportunity to do something better to prove that it's not as good. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I got it man yeah, I just, I just saw, if you, don't like it, make it better there you go.

Speaker 3:

I just saw somebody I would say, well, it was. Uh, jimmy page was talking about it. As much as I love jimmy page, I kind of thought, well, bro, the last cool thing you did was like 40 fucking years ago. So you, you know right, you have again. You have every opportunity to prove that your licks are better than theirs, and I look forward to hearing that. And if you don't, then hey, what can you do?

Speaker 1:

And even on his revamped Led Zeppelin with John Adams' son. They were still doing that stuff from 45 years ago, exactly, you know. And then him and robert plant tried doing something together and that didn't work out too great. Those two, I really believe, don't get along too good right but yeah, again, she's always amazing to have on the show and so I look forward to having her back on because I really want to see this, this project, go through, not just because she said, hey, I want you in it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you get to play an alien or an AEB.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, as she put it, but it'll be fun and uh, yeah, man, again, jim will be with us, hopefully next week. That's all I got, man. We already said the closing quote, so and if you were just tuning in at the end of the show, what's wrong with you?

Speaker 3:

uh, you can check out keith's acting skills on tiktok I start every show with the last five minutes that that way I'm not disappointed.

Speaker 1:

And then that's how wrestling is. They start from the back and work their way forward, man.

Speaker 3:

Or Tarantino movies.

Speaker 1:

So good things are coming down the road, just don't stop walking. That was Jim's quote and yeah, I love that one too. It's just really awkward and weird because, again, that's what I was talking about. He threw that at me. So we got some other guests that I'm in talks with. I've mentioned a couple to you and I'm really trying to get this one big guest on who said that they would be on, but then I lost contact with them. So hopefully that all uh, there's a lot of things going on in the world, you know with with canada and the us, and you know what I don't do politics, religion so you know what. Don't be mad at me, you know, uh, you know, but yeah, I love them guys up there. So, but, other than that man, I appreciate you jumping on with me.

Speaker 3:

No, not a problem. You know, Glad to go, man, glad to pull it together.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, now you got a new acquaintance. Yeah, all right, bro, you did a great job today, thank you sir, I love those questions because you know, like whenim asked some of those questions I think about too. That's why I like listening, because if I'm talking a lot or if I'm doing it, then I'm not really thinking about the question, you know, because it's written in front of me. But you did, you did awesome, so I get. You'll make jim proud I hope so.

Speaker 3:

I hope so, but I'm not jim. And uh, you know, there, there is no, there is no other jb. He's them and I I'm not.

Speaker 1:

You know, I much prefer him to be here than not so, but we will talk to you next week and and hopefully jim will be on with us and uh, we'll figure it out.

Speaker 3:

We'll have fun, see you everybody, and happy birthday to my friend Florence Ria Rafa, my new friend.

Speaker 1:

Right on, right on, and happy birthday to my pops tomorrow.

Speaker 3:
