Speaker 2:Well, hello, hello, welcome to the Powers Point podcast, season five, episode seven, I would imagine Sounds good to me. I'm sorry if you heard my song about beeping. It's my birthday, dude. I'm super stoked. I'm happy we are back together doing a podcast. You know we took a week off. I didn't think we had to take a week off because, like we had all these plans, we were at Backbreaker, we recorded together for the first time in the same room and had a lot of fun doing it. I didn't put any up because it was more commentary and it sounded good. Unless you're a wrestling fan and you know who the wrestlers are that we're talking about it would be very boring.
Speaker 1:My name is Jim, by the way, and this is Scott. I was talking Without the visual. You really can't, like you said, people won't see. But folks, just a little tease. We are getting things in the works to maybe help out with some visual stuff. That's all I can say legally say we're working on stuff, so don't worry if you hear us. Now I sound a little better. All this time I was doing the podcast I just didn't take a cough drop, and now listen to me, I sound great just because of a cough drop.
Speaker 1:Or in other countries, a lasinger A lasinger, it could be also called a new microphone. Folks A microphone.
Speaker 2:You know what people are going to notice the difference at big time. We're both wearing our headphones so we can hear better. I wish my wife would listen in headphones, because then she'd you need a headphone, honey. So, jim has been a pretty exciting two weeks, I guess, since we've talked Lots gone down with like wrestling, lots of new equipment yeah, new equipment.
Speaker 1:Anything happen for you these last couple days, or just their usual work, home, work home.
Speaker 2:Really work, homework, work home. You know more, more work than home.
Speaker 1:My son went to a Nerf shootout. What this is new when I am. No, this is new with a Hobart police station. In their gym they have. They have kids come bring nerf guns, but you have to have goggles too. You supply the goggles and the nerf guns and they supplied the ammo. Just their excuse to shoot somebody or train the next generation, if you all like it so much. Look at the whole Billy skills over there.
Speaker 2:You know what that causes, though. What causes kids to go home and beg their parents? Exactly that $90 nerf nerf gun.
Speaker 1:I had to buy him one but I only got like a $5 cheap one that only shot four bullets and he shot like. You remember that scene in a Harlem nights where Arsenio Hall's gangs like shooting Eddie Murphy's gang and they had machine guns and they were going gugguggugguggugg and then that one guy in the gang just goes pop, pop pop. That was my son. He was just shooting pop pop and they need to have to go hurry up and reload and these other people have like loosies and stuff.
Speaker 2:So you're going to tell me about shooting Delores and her toe? Yeah, I should have told Jimmy.
Speaker 1:Tell her, you shot your pinky toe.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but he had a lot of fun. Yeah, it's good to see kids get away from the computer to the screen and try something new. Heck, I would go do that if you know we could do paintball. But man, that hurts too.
Speaker 1:So nerf gun that would be great, yeah, because you and me they didn't have nerf guns until like what, the beginning of the 90s kind of like mid 80s kind of it all started taking off.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know what we had when we were little. We didn't have nerf guns, and this just popped into my head now. We had the thumb things that you put in between your thumb and your forefinger and you like, pop it and it shoots.
Speaker 1:I'd have to look at it and see I don't remember.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like, it's like a little piece of cheap Styrofoam man, but then, okay, when you were little it was pretty cool and like when you, when you like, push the edges down, it shoots out of your hand and it looks like a marshmallow sized piece of foam.
Speaker 1:Okay, I remember like taking a rubber band and wrapping it around your finger and then the other side around your like wrapping it around your thumb and then just like lifting up your thumb and it releases it. Like Right, we had a turdy hairy style. Yeah, I mean, we had barely anything but anything for him and his friends to get together and like do activities. That's all I care about.
Speaker 2:That's awesome man and really cool on the police force, because and that was the Hobart police, or yeah the Hobart police.
Speaker 1:They're in the and my oldness, the old middle school. That used to be when Hobart got a new high school. That became the new high school and then the middle school took over the high school and then the Bricky Bowl yeah, the Bricky Bowl, that's where the Hobart police said you know, we're gonna have the courthouse and everything and the police station right here at the old middle school. That's pretty cool. I wanted to wander the halls, but I'm sure I would have been very much in trouble if I would have did that.
Speaker 2:Right, right, it would be like I have a long year.
Speaker 1:I remember this hallway down on the ground Whoa shit.
Speaker 2:You'll remember to sell Dude. It's so weird because I moved my microphone right. Yeah, it's directly in line with the camera. Okay, you can't see it in the video, dude.
Speaker 1:I was trying to hide mine on the side here but I didn't want to like he's got some kind of AI thing hiding his stuff, I don't know.
Speaker 2:It's sneaky like that.
Speaker 1:I need to wear a green, all green bodysuit. Then you can't see me, just hear my voice.
Speaker 2:Hey, so for Double Down, for Backbreaker. Yes, that was you know what. Let's just jump into that right now, man. Okay, you know, get it out of the way around and, uh, just take a rest and we're done, we're not a wrestling fan Fast forward probably about 10 to 12 minutes. Yeah, we got some updates. I was involved. I got to present the flag. Yeah, started off. Yeah, started off good. But uh, as you hear it, I got a little bitter on that one.
Speaker 1:Well, you're just doing your, you know patriotic duty and all of a sudden madness happens. Tell everybody what happened.
Speaker 2:Alright. So my brother, my little brother, right, he always wanted to know where it was like to walk through the curtains when he wanted to feel like what the vibe was for the people, and so I call him the little patriot. And he had my leather coat on and I gave him a flag and and told him to go on, and he's like what? And I'm like no, no go, you know. So he led me to the ring with the flag and I thought that was really cool, man. It's another thing that I'm proud of, because that little dude does some some really good things, you know, and he doesn't always get to be a teen because he, like, watches my mom and dad and blah, blah, blah. So he wanted to know what the vibe felt like and he felt it and he, uh, he thought it was the craziest thing. But on to the show. So I get in the ring and he hands me the flag. He stays outside and in the center of the ring, I, we played the national anthem, I held the flag up, high man. It's a proud moment, dude, you know, and I never get tired of it. And then I hand the flag back to him.
Speaker 2:So as soon as I hand the flag to Seth, I felt like something hit me, dude, like instantly, and I got pummeled. Now you're getting beat up and assaulted and I didn't know what was going on. So then I finally turned around and I see this guy who I have not seen probably in like five years. I used to manage him back in the day. I've known of him for probably about 26 years and he's a really bad dude. Let me tell you, yeah and uh, it's supposed to be in jail, okay, wow, I mean there's two of them, so thank god I don't know where the second one is. I don't know how this dude got out of jail or like who or how, but he was supposed to get paroled in like 2030.
Speaker 1:Right, it's the thing you're tears telling this guy, but he had a mask on, so is it really the guy I mean you could probably tell? You can tell.
Speaker 2:I could tell man, and for those I say guy, but he goes by universal bomber one. And Again, I've known of him for a long time and he wasn't supposed to be paroled until 2030. And again, I don't know where the second one is, but I gotta say it started going in my favor after a few, like a minute or two, getting mercifully beat down.
Speaker 1:What you called your breath. You know and gathered your bearings, I guess.
Speaker 2:Right, and then I start to take over and he dips out, rolls out the bottom of the rope and he leaves. And after he's doing this threatening gestures and all that he just walks away. So technically there was a referee there, but did that match ever start?
Speaker 1:I don't, I don't think so. He's driving a match, because there was no bell, really. So I saw the ref acting like it was a match starting and I was like what's going on here? And all of a sudden then he, like you said, dips out and then you're like, okay, he was just, you know, messing with your mind or something there.
Speaker 2:And let me tell you, I was fired up, man, I was ready to go. You know, you got my good eye. Son of a bitch.
Speaker 2:I started moving quicker than I have in a while because I sit in front of the TV or the computer and I don't really exercise because I go to the gym every day. But you know, I do what I want to do, you know. But it's different when you're in a wrestling ring and you're getting thrown around and head butt yeah, it's. And then the dude pulls out some kind of foreign object and starts swinging it at me. You know so. But I gotta tell you yeah, that's the wind that I ever hold that flag up again. I dare this dude to jump in the ring with me again. I will. I'm at anywhere anytime that I'm holding that flag, even if I'm not holding that flag. Do it again, I dare you. You know I will be waiting Now. You're gonna be ready for him.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I gave him that one chance, you know, but that's it. That's all he's getting. And uh, moving on to what was the actual, first match.
Speaker 1:First match, I believe, was Joey Rancid. Richie Rockchild came down and Joey Rancid with Joey Rancid and, uh, he said how he was. Richie said how he was disappointed with Rancid and blames him for losing the tag titles last fall, and he's pretty much said it. He, from what we understood, it was an open challenge to replace him or for him to stay with them. I don't know, we really couldn't hear.
Speaker 1:And all the sudden, kujo came out and Kujo. Then a match happened with Kujo and Rancid and Kujo was just pumbling him and because Rancid was still like what, what did I do? You know what? I thought we were a team and then Kujo just destroyed him. So he got trouble too. No, kujo started beating up Rancid and Kujo, uh, won the match. He wrestled Rancid and then he just beat up Rancid and then Kujo won the match and then, oh yeah, punisher was with Richie. I'm my apologies, punisher was with Richie. And then Kujo joined with them and the three of them left. And then some other wrestlers came and helped Rancid to the back yeah, and Rancid was just like they were practically holding them up to get them to the back.
Speaker 2:Wow, a lot of things are happening in this show, I see.
Speaker 1:And that's what Dave Allen, who was commentating next to me, said you don't know who's really gonna help Rancid that much, because for over a year he's been doing some dirty things to other guys and who feel sorry for him really.
Speaker 2:You know I dealt with him pretty much most of the 20-23, him and Rothschild, you know me and this caviar, my former partner. They're tough man. I meant they don't care, they play dirty. And now the tide has changed on Joseph, yeah, so we'll see what happens. He is no. He is definitely no Christian, let me tell you.
Speaker 1:We'll see what leads like what his mindset is gonna be after this. Will he need some time off, or will he like change his outlook of wrestling here, or who knows what?
Speaker 2:We'll have to keep an eye on that. I mean, was this a ploy to? I don't know. I get people to help, but then they turn on him. I'm not sure. But what's the?
Speaker 1:third match. The third one was Mad Duar versus Dick.
Speaker 2:Davis, this match had everything like in writing to be a great match. Yeah, you know, just these two physical specimens. You know the people love Dick, the person Dick, oh, okay, and we look at the rest one and I got the what come out during the second half of this match.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:What a man. It's man.
Speaker 1:It was pretty. I mean they were going, they were beating each other up in the ring and then they out of the ring and then they all start. They start going around the ring, just not stopping, and the refs counting, and they keep coming rolling in and out breaking the count, and it was just wild.
Speaker 2:At one point Matt Duar was down and Dick Davis climbed to the top of the rope and he went to go jump and do like a double axe handle to Matt Duar, but Matt turned it around and speared Dick as in midair and that was crazy. And then you had Matt Suplex Matt outside on the floor.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and then I placed my crazing on that Suplex it and it's sent the special olympic weight lifter, sent him running.
Speaker 2:yeah, the guy frowned, how it was.
Speaker 1:He just jumped up and then just took off like phew, like forced up, and I'm like what the farts going on here?
Speaker 2:you know and I know dragon well. So anyway, if you can like get to him, like uh, it's something bad happened here, and he like froze to the wall man like five minutes and I was staring at him and he wouldn't even blink. You know, if somebody was in front of the gump he uh forced gump, that is, as he was running. As soon as he was in front of him he would have got plowed over it was, it was nice so who ended up winning this match?
Speaker 1:um, I'm almost positive they were doing a well, they were doing roll-ups and stuff and, yeah, reversals, and I believe dick davis won and much deserved, yeah, but then they like I believe they shook hands afterwards and, like you know, it was a nothing personal it was good sportsman yeah and uh, after that match intermission happened and no caring for those that have never been to a backbreaker show.
Speaker 2:All the wrestlers come out and you get to take pictures with the kids and and uh, get autographs and it's such a good feeling, you know, and people ask me to get an autograph and I'm thinking, who am I? You know, I just do a podcast, you know, but it's, it's a great feeling. Kids and families love it. You know, like back in the day, if you wanted a picture with a wrestler, you give them like five bucks and they give you a polaroid. You know, but nowadays at backbreaker nobody pays to like meet the wrestler? Yeah, you can. You know, you could buy the merch, sure, but you get it like a personal like, uh, just kind of like a one-on-one. You know wrestlers don't rush you off. You know like, oh, get away, kid. You know, so it's really good. Family value for the price.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean, kids will remember it, remember it yeah, and then after intermission it was uh, jeremy, only taking on the legacy champion gave the brave war is that's when started out almost right in front of you like a riot almost, yeah, jeremy running his mouth like only Jeremy can, and you know, even before the show, you and I got threatened to be thrown through a table.
Speaker 1:Yeah, if we're that anything bad we're talking and then handily comes over and threatens us. If he appears one thing about him or something that he doesn't like, he was gonna just destroy us and we caught that clip on uh on audio.
Speaker 4:So, uh, just take a few seconds and I'll let you hear how crazy he is I'm gonna make this clear to everybody when my music hits and I come out, I want everyone to stand up and chant the name hadley hadley and for the record.
Speaker 4:If either one of you do, if either one of you say anything bad about me, I will know, and once I know, I'm gonna come over here and this announce table is gonna be gone. Guess what matter of fact, this announce table speaks spanish. Now, that's right, because you're going through it. You're going through it.
Speaker 1:Say something I won't I won't say nothing say something yeah, I got it man, nothing bad here all right, jim.
Speaker 2:So if he were to touch this, we had evidence. You know that we could have gone back on adley with like we didn't even do anything. You know I wouldn't start yelling at us. I didn't say anything. What was match or who won that match?
Speaker 2:uh, gave the brave one retained his championship I can only imagine how much arrogant sherry hadley would be with the belt on and I'm not talking about one that holds his pants up, um the next match was the punisher, and richie rough child came out with kujo in their corner against johnny motley and jake ron when. What a team motley and ron is. You know the both fan favorites. Yes, said you. Said you notice some changes in motley's attitude.
Speaker 1:Last, uh, at the end of the year, last year, but yeah but the match that they were just a well oiled machine like tags and just uh, they had several tags and they were just, you know, working together good it was like reminiscent to like the old rock and roll express, you know, tagging and outs quick.
Speaker 2:And then it started being more a beat down on on ron, who came back from a pretty major surgery and we didn't even know if he'd ever rustle again. And here he was, you know, and uh, how did it in jim um?
Speaker 1:well, johnny motley couldn't get in the ring for a while and then all of a sudden, uh or no, johnny went over to get a tag or give it. I can't remember. You remember what it was sure. Do okay here at jake's finally.
Speaker 2:Jake finally jumped in the corner and and went to tag johnny motley. Johnny motley jumped out the ring apron, leaving ron to get humbled, beat down relentless. He turned and just and, and he just turned on his part, on his partner, the middle of the match and he even like uh, he even hugged them, guys, you know on it, or the punisher and punisher and racha. Then he joined forces with them and the fans hey, you weren't half in it.
Speaker 1:They were, they were losing it.
Speaker 2:So yeah, because we've never seen johnny motley in this, in this light. No, you know, and I hope, I hope we are able to uh get jake on sometime soon. Uh, hopefully by the end of this podcast I'll be able to sit down and talk with him and uh, then maybe you and I'll sit down and try to get johnny motley on, and you know what we always like to bring the scoop to people. You know, like you heard it here first, you know, I, I would love to get motley and uh, you got my back. So, oh, yeah, if, if motley goes crazy, uh, you can take it.
Speaker 1:Hey, I don't want to that much of a shield what do you get for the main man um? The main was thomas keith versus trog the caveman one of men.
Speaker 2:These two couldn't be more the opposite spectrum from each other. One, yeah, one's coming in in a maserati, the other one's coming in on the back of a brontosaurus. Uh, it's. Uh, it's crazy. Fans haven't seen trog in a while. He, he was a big fan favorite. Uh, we know that thomas and kb are one heck of a team.
Speaker 1:Kb, for people that don't know, is thomas's manager who's been around the wrestling forever and he was pretty much uh, king, bishop was, uh, interfering a little bit in the match and trog, trog was getting angrier, angrier and then all of a sudden gave the brave, came out to like even the score and stop the bishop from interfering, and then that was when trog got the advantage and won the match now did he win the belt? No, they didn't.
Speaker 2:Uh, they didn't have the belt, it was a non title right, no, uh no, thomas ain't the champ, no more.
Speaker 1:No, it's not the champ gave the brave in former, the one who took his title right, right.
Speaker 2:It shows how much I'm in the loop here well, you were.
Speaker 1:You were, your head was spinning. You don't know what you were. You're sitting next to me, but I don't think you knew what was going on I'm worried about some mask guy like coming out of nowhere and jumping me you're looking at your dog sideways like are you? You're you the one? Are you the one?
Speaker 2:yes, somebody put a mask on my dog and I said I have nightmares, but it was a really good show. Lots of twist and turns. Yeah, fans did. No, you know, sometimes you got those marks in the in the audience that try to figure everything out. I can't damn tea it. Nobody's seen any of this stuff.
Speaker 1:Everybody was the shock, the excitement. I mean that there was more exciting this show than the last one. Everybody was just cruel and going crazy about all that. There were so many turns, there were so many uh, uh, excitement and action. It was just.
Speaker 2:I mean, everybody said they loved it a lot of let downs might at least turn it on his fans. Yeah, you getting beat up. Yeah, thanks for bringing that up again when. Oh, so sorry, but that that was double down and man for adults paying ten bucks for all that that's worth, it's better to watch on tv and they have another show coming up march 23rd called hammer locked okay, I haven't heard nothing of it yet.
Speaker 1:It's on facebook uh, it's at the same place that hold brand hall in griffith. It's uh. And then one match. They've already said it's the one everybody wants to know.
Speaker 2:The answers to jake ron versus johnny motley and you're gonna get the scoop here first before anybody. I guarantee it because, like I said, I am bringing jake on. We're going to talk about this and you'll hear it here later on. Do you like metal music?
Speaker 1:will you need to listen to mostly metal, 103.1 at them, w blp, valparaiso, indiana. The metal professor has got your music. Well, things that were acceptable back then but are not now. I would say the biggest one well, they're all big, but the one of the ones is smoking indoors or public spaces. Back then it was like all the time and you like, I mean people still do it, but in, like restaurants or fast food, people just start smoking and stuff and just not caring.
Speaker 2:And here's the good one I've actually seen pictures of people in hospital beds yeah, and they actually have smoking. Girls like bring like this big suitcase up selling cigarettes to patients lying in a hospital bed. That's awesome. How crazy is this man?
Speaker 1:That's wild.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean I'm glad personally cause I don't smoke anymore. You know that I don't have to breathe If you smoke, more power to you. It's just not my thing, you know, but I don't want the taste of it in my food.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that makes me sick.
Speaker 2:Well, you know, riding in the car of my grandma back in the day, right in the day, you know like see that the windows rolled up smoking. You know that's another thing.
Speaker 1:That's not acceptable nowadays During the summertime at work, if I'm in the parking lot eating my lunch and someone a couple of cars over smoking and the wind's blowing it, I'll just like drive to a way other parking spot just to get away from it. I can't eat and have smoke in my face, it's so throw up mode.
Speaker 2:Right, and I smoke personally three packs a day or three years, oh my God, yeah, and I'm so glad I like kicked that one. That's because at times there was nothing else to do.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But speaking of that, Jim, not only hospitals, not only restaurants, but we used to have cancer in corner in high school where the kids were allowed to go to one side of the parking lot and smoke.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean smoking on lunch in high school was like, oh, they're gonna smoke or they're gonna smoke. It's like you said that to a teacher nowadays. They'd be like what? And they like lose their minds.
Speaker 2:Some of the people that were in that corner of the parking lot were like 15, 16. They didn't care Like you can't even buy smokes for that. You know, and it wasn't looked down. You know them, kids, there's a lot of smoke over there, you know Exactly. It's the craziest thing. All right.
Speaker 2:So I got a big one here. Oh, and some people might get offended Too bad. But banking kids who are unruly, out of hand, yep, and nowadays you can't smack the kids and it shows as they get older and more disrespectful. You know, I remember walking through Zares which is like Kmart, and the kid just would not stop, like mouth and all and everything, and I'd seen the mom just take her belt and shirt, like just slapping the kid in the butt not in the face, that's unacceptable, but on the butt, hey, hey, that's the buckle side.
Speaker 1:ma'am, you oughta use the leather side.
Speaker 2:Okay, calm down dang, and then yeah, and then I get hit with the buckle. You know that's stuff. But spanking kids, to me I think it should still be acceptable.
Speaker 1:You say that because you don't have any young. Oh, I mean, I understand that beating us or whatever back in the day, didn't you know it made us stop doing stuff? But we still. They're saying studies prove that it doesn't change how the kid's gonna act, or something. But more creatively now I think of like ways to like tell him okay, you're not gonna get this if you do this. You know there's consequences to your throwing a fit or cussing at us or something. I'll just take away tablet time or all you know video games for a week or something, and he loses mind with that. So we started using that like to make him not result of the old days of spanking.
Speaker 2:All right, but with that comes the six worst words that you can hear as a kid what, wait till your father gets home? Yeah, you know, but nowadays, so what? If he gets home, I'll open up a door for him. You know, like man, when I was told that and I am not gonna say that I was a saint, by all means, you know I still am not. But you know, my mom will still slap me to this day, like if I swear, and and I swear like if I swear in their house. You know, a little back of the head is okay, not 51 years old, and she's she. I won't just turn it, but she'll still slap me too, do you know? And I'm like to her, I'm always her baby.
Speaker 1:But I know some of your friends and they, they, they wanted to hit you on the back of the head too, so she's really doing it for them.
Speaker 2:But what do you have for your sexual son, man?
Speaker 1:My second one, I would have to say answering the phone blind. Remember how you used to like the phone would bring it home back in the olden days, the 80s and 70s, 80s and not even 90s into it and you just pick up the phone. Hello, like nowadays. It's unheard of You're like I have to. I have to see on the phone who is calling and who's trying to interrupt me, because back then it was just it was your bravery test. You're like okay, and just lifted the phone up.
Speaker 2:Well, back in the day, no, you were there. Hey, the reason there is caller ID and such is because of the jerky boys, yeah, who used to prank call all the time to people. And you don't know what's real, what's not real. You're giving away information.
Speaker 1:They used to. This group of guys made this audio CDs and cassettes about prank phone calls because they grew up with it like we did and it got so popular in America that people started doing prank, prank phone calls all over the place and they were like look, we have a caller ID and they've had it for a while. Then they just amped it up to where more phones and more phones like had to get caller ID now.
Speaker 2:We used to me and my friend Zach he was my best friend growing up in school we used to prank call this lady named Betty Burger. She was out of Hobart and we used to tell her that she won free toasters for paying her Nip School bill on time and where to go to pick up that free toaster. And then we called like a week later to see if she went and picked it up. And you know, and she's like I know who you are. You know like oh my God damn, she's got caller ID.
Speaker 1:You know the people wouldn't call ours, because my brother would pick up the phone and he had real patience with that. They would try to prank him and he'd be like, oh really, so what else? Okay, so my refrigerator is running All right, so how do you know? And he would just keep them going to where they would get annoyed and they would hang up and he'd just start laughing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and it's a. Well yeah, answering the phone blindly, that's a.
Speaker 1:I mean you could never. Because if you just pick it up, you know I don't know that number and you try answering it and someone looks at you like are you crazy? Why would you just answer a number you don't know? And then we did it all the time.
Speaker 2:About from an extra one not using seatbelts. Oh yeah, if you didn't want to use a seatbelt in your car, you didn't have to wear a seatbelt. This was kids too, and this goes along with the story I told a couple of weeks ago that when I was like sleeping up against the door and my mom went up the DM ramp, they fell out the car and she kept going for a little bit.
Speaker 1:That was it. But my siblings and cousins, whenever we go on adventures or something with our family, we would just pile into the car and there'd be like four or five of us in the back and you know, we're all just scrunched together and like only one or two might put the seatbelt on. But no, a lot of times nobody would and we just go driving Everybody in there. Okay, door shut. All right, let's go.
Speaker 2:We used to fill up my mom's T-bird and it was me and Sean all who owns ARW, bro, yeah, we were in the front seat and there's a road in the next station called Union Street, and on the street they have like a almost like a bike-like ramp on the railroad tracks. And I never forget, dude, there was like six people in the back, like you said, and I gunned it, man, I went all the way to the end of the street and came and, as we were like Duke's a hazard airing it over the railroad track, a cop was sitting right there and I like came right down on the bumper of the T-bird and so I just pulled over. I knew I was screwed. And so he gets out of his car and he like knocks on the windshield and he's like I was going evil, can you? And then he asked why I was doing that and I was like trying to be cool. I'm trying to be cool, officer, and he let me off, dude.
Speaker 1:Wait, wait, with people in the back too and on the seatbelts and stuff.
Speaker 2:Right and he hit the Cause. My mom's car came down and I got it. I hope they're not listening, cause I never told them how their car got damaged, but it came back down on the bumper and then came down and so, like it, bent the frame, I bet. And it was the kind where the headlights, when you turn them on, they open. Oh okay, they don't, and they didn't open. No more.
Speaker 1:Oh my God, that's probably. He's probably like. That's why your dad's gonna like get pissed off. It never ran right after that.
Speaker 2:I'm gonna get grounded. I'm just gonna go to my parents' house. They're gonna hear this and be like tell me to go straight to my room.
Speaker 1:You think a smack was, you think a smack's bad. You're gonna get a frying pan when you go this time.
Speaker 2:What if he got for your next one man?
Speaker 1:My next one is let's see, I got a bunch of them down Me too. Oh, stopping by someone's house unannounced, Remember? You just go visit somebody I just came to visit, Didn't tell, warn them or call them, or nothing.
Speaker 2:Well, as a kid you see where all your friends were, because all the bikes would be just laying in the yard, yeah, and you see where the cool kids lived. But you go in and out and you show up there. Yeah, just go out. And I got some. My aunt, who listens to this show, absolutely hates uninvited, like unannounced guests. They just nap on her door Because some people like to be ready for things nowadays.
Speaker 1:Just like with the phone. If you hear the door knocking, everybody in the world nowadays goes who the f is knocking and they're just like getting up looking out the windows, like I will beat the living crap out of this person.
Speaker 2:Or you just freeze and like shh, yeah, don't move.
Speaker 1:Well, that's usually when, Jenny, if we do that, if it's like someone selling something, Jimmy will go who's that? And it'll just like start looking out the window. Who's that? Like get down. You're like a damn little puppy dog or some barking and stuff and someone at the door.
Speaker 2:I get it, man. You know, like it doesn't. Even when people announce that they're coming here, we don't like like no one ever comes to this house. No one does. Man, I kind of wish I kind of wish they did.
Speaker 1:I almost did. Took me forever to get on today.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but the point thing is, you're here, oh, giving all right Next one. How about this one? Hitchhiking yeah.
Speaker 1:Hitchhiking was like common back then.
Speaker 2:You need to get somewhere, didn't have a ride. You need to get a couple of states away. You just stand on the road and put your thumb out and get in the car and just trust in that person and go in.
Speaker 1:You know, nowadays no, I don't know. I was driving my niece a couple of about two years ago somewhere and there was a hitchhiker or did someone just walking. And I go hey Yada, why don't we pick them up? And she looked at me like their eyes were like huge, like are you freaking crazy? I said what you need a ride.
Speaker 2:One time I was at my parents' house and I was getting ready to leave with my middle brother and we seen this guy just yelling at this lady just relentlessly, you know, and she's like I'm leaving you, I'm leaving you, you know, and it was all crazy. And I told my brother let's pick her up, you know, and he's like come on. And then I pulled up next to the lady and I'm like hey, you need a ride. And she's like hell, yeah. And she jumped in the car and I'm like gosh, she actually did it. You know, I could kill you. I ended up taking her to Portage somewhere, I think Don B O Ray Hardy's at the time. And yeah, and I didn't even ask, man Didn't ask what it was, you know, didn't give my name or anything. And then one time when I was in Gary at a stoplight, you know, you look out the window, you're just looking around, you know, and in Gary you really got to watch your back, you know.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah or the yeah, but stops lights.
Speaker 2:Well, I heard the car door open and I felt the car go down and some lady jumped in my car and she asked me to take her to this church down by fifth and Broadway. Oh, hell, no, and I'm like, well, you need to go to the church for her. She said that her ex was getting married and I know, way in house he's getting married, you know, and I go. Well, I'll just drop you off at the church. I'm not going in there, you know, you know. So I dropped her off and she walked like she had a purpose up to the church.
Speaker 1:Oh my God, you're lucky. She didn't have a gun or a knife or something like that, and it's just an ant.
Speaker 2:She did it. If she did, it wasn't for me, you know. So what do you got for the next one man?
Speaker 1:Well, pretty much like fat jokes or insults. You don't hear those nowadays a lot. I mean you can. I mean people do, sam, but it's very rare that you'll hear a lot of something like that.
Speaker 2:I'm guilty of it.
Speaker 1:Well, well, if you're with your, your significant other, and you say it, you two know each other for a long time and you know there's no real meaning behind it, but or insults that are kind of like out of line but pretty much. If you say anything out loud, like at a store or something with somebody or grocery store, and you'll get like 20 people like oh, how dare you, and you know they'd all start becoming a verbal policeman and women, what do you got for another?
Speaker 2:one, how do you mullets? You had Billy Ray Cyrus phase, you know, with the achy breaky heart and Mr Mullet himself. And then next thing, you know everybody has business in the front, party in the back. But that was on fashion sense really, but it was acceptable then. But walking around the mullet nowadays you don't see it.
Speaker 1:I see some people, like once in a blue moon, will try to bring it back and not get a couple years, but then it doesn't catch on anymore.
Speaker 2:And then a couple of weeks after they had the mullet, the next thing you know, they got like high and tight military haircuts because they got made fun of. They couldn't commit to all that shampooing, right Right, it took up a lot in the back, I mean, if they washed their hair, because most mullets are greasy, yeah. Okay, man, what do you get?
Speaker 1:Um, let's see Cat calling or flirting. It seems like nowadays if you say anything to a woman or well, not so much guys, but if you say anything to a woman besides LL, like a robot or something you're going to get, oh you're being a pervert or you're being creepy and it's like no, just, I understand it like a compliment, but it's not to the level of cat calling. They used to be like hey, baby, and there's like, say, a bunch of stuff.
Speaker 2:Right, right, I meant.
Speaker 1:back then they said some really bad stuff, you know, and they can't call, and you know, and depending on what town in Northwest Indiana you go to, people really speak like that still to this day.
Speaker 2:You know like when I see my wife, I'll be like they have a good, you know, and should be like shut the f up, you stupid ass. You know she don't even like what you want. You know like, yeah, what'd you do? You know, it's like, when I come home with flowers, what'd you do? Oh Jesus, I'm just being nice. Yeah, whenever.
Speaker 1:We're with the wife, she usually just like rolls her eyes or just like just blank looks at me and I'm like, well, that's so much for flirting.
Speaker 2:We have never seen in my life reverse cat calling. Yeah, I've never seen a group of females like damn dude, you know, like whoa, I've never seen that.
Speaker 1:You see, if a real muscular guy with a tight, tight shirt goes walking down a street, and then you, because this one guy on this video I saw he was doing that. He is pretty much as he does reels or something on that Facebook and he, when he walks down the street in these big cities, all these people like look at him, like oh, like their mouths, like oh, my God, and these women are like he just shows how people like look at it, look at a muscular guy walking and stuff.
Speaker 2:But he was like some kind of Greek adonis.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he looks like a European or something and he has just real muscles. He's about six, three or something and they're just looking at him like, oh my God, it's a celebrity. And look at him and it's all different people, all different ethnicities and male and female, and it's like wow, the power of someone looking muscular. You know, right, right. People act like they don't. They don't care about appearance, but people do care about appearance.
Speaker 2:I agree with that man, I agree. How about this one, jim? This one irks me to no other. Why Back in the day people kids rode bikes with no helmets. Yeah, nowadays people are all all wrapped up. You know like I fell off my bike a lot. You know like my shoelaces got tangled up in my in my pedals and and tripped me and I used to jump bike ramps and I never had no stupid helmet. I know I don't get it.
Speaker 1:We got concussions and broken limbs and we liked it. It was your right of passage growing up.
Speaker 2:Right, you know you build a homemade ramp that was super shady, you know wobbly, and sometimes it wouldn't even stay together. And then you go as fast as you can and jump and guess what? You had no elbow pads on, no helmet. If the handlebars turned in and went under your rib cage and knocked the wind out of you when you landed, it was okay, it was acceptable. But nowadays I see I don't see kids ever riding without helmets. No, even in in like a cul-de-sac where there's no traffic, kids are still wearing helmets. Man and I'm like there's no traffic, you're not getting hit by a car. Yeah, you know that irks me to no other man, because to me being super safe is super boring.
Speaker 1:Yeah Well, plus, how are kids gonna if you make them beyond safe with protection when they're young, when they do experience later in life bumps, bruises, accidents, they are gonna lose their mind because they've never felt it before, they never experienced pain in that. And I mean, I understand with my son. Yeah, I do protect him, but sometimes you almost gotta like let him, you know, let him figure this out, let him try, he's gonna. And he'll say, oh, I hit my hand and I'll be like, well, it'll go away. Just, you know, as long as you can move your fingers and you know, we'll see, we'll keep an eye on it, and that's all you gotta tell them.
Speaker 2:You know, the other day we had like some weird abnormal 76 degree day, you know, in the middle and in the end of February and the kids were playing at the park down the street. They had kids jumping off swings but they had helmets on man and I'm like I used to love jumping off of swings but helmets you show me where a helmet if you're a football player, we're in the military.
Speaker 1:Let's return, unless they were turning in midair and I had first hitting the ground. I stand almost playgrounds like the new one in Hobart, All the. They have a cushion like floor the whole underneath. All the equipment's like either rubber mulch or it's like a big thick foam flooring kind of stuff underneath.
Speaker 2:Now this park has like old weathered mulch from like eight years ago. It's like ass in the ground. Yeah and dude, I used to jump when it was gravel. Yeah, and care was fun. I love the feeling of hanging there and just seeing how far I can get. What do you got for your next one, Vince?
Speaker 1:My next one I have. Let's see kids waiting in the car while parents are inside. I was that kid. Yeah, I was too. You could see one maybe around soon. I mean it's you don't see it a lot. Back then it was like kids are in just in the car, like uh, waiting forever, and the parents didn't care, they were just in there for like half hour hour. No, who cares, the kids are in the car, they're fine. They won't open the door. Yeah, they won't open for us. I got the keys, they won't start it. No, kidding. But then, like I said, in the nineties I don't know if it was just news freaking everybody out they used to like say, oh, this, this stranger got in the car and took off with the kid in the back seat, or they stole the car or something, and you'd be like holy crap.
Speaker 2:And parents should stop doing it. I was the kid that got stuck in there and that, that crappy vinyl upholstered chair. You know like back in the day they didn't have cloth on like seats, they had that like leather and it got hot yeah.
Speaker 1:When it gets hot, you're afraid to keep the windows up because you're afraid of anyone taking you in the car. But then you're like but I'm dying. So you're like slowly letting it down a little more, a little more.
Speaker 2:And then your parents come out like 30 minutes later and like, oh sorry, ran in a bob down the street, we're going to get somebody. How about this one man? Public drunkenness yeah, back in the day I say that a lot, but with this subject and topic I gotta say that if people were drunken like a bar, yeah, they'd just crash at the, at the bar. You know that. Sleep there for a little bit, one thing not enough. Nowadays they're throwing you out. You know, and like Ron White says the comedian, you know I wasn't publicly drunk until you threw me out and then it became public. Then I was in public.
Speaker 1:It's crazy, yeah, it is. Or back in the day they used to say someone was a happy drunk or a what was it called? Someone who could hold their liquor, or something like that. Right, oh, he's not bad, he's okay, he's just drunk. And it's like no, he's just drunk. No, nowadays they're like new, that one I present.
Speaker 2:You're in jail and everything else. You know breathalyzer and you just as you walk out the door. That's all they got for things that are acceptable. Yeah, that's good. Speaker 1:I couldn't find really a lot of inspiring ones, but I found, you know, fun, take your mind off, kind of news.
Speaker 2:Well, let's kick it off with the first one. Jim, Go ahead, All right this one.
Speaker 1:I know you're going to be excited because I was. I saw a movie trailer and I usually don't watch trailers, I mean really, and we went, we long time ago short story, we, we read it a movie called dust till dawn Okay, dusk, sorry, dusk, dusk, dusk till dawn. And we started watching it. We didn't know nothing about the movie, nothing. We started watching it and then, like in the middle, the almost the middle of the movie, to toward the beginning, after the first quarter of the movie, the whole script and everything changed and it became an awesome movie. And we're like holy crap, we saw that how this movie was going. And then it took a hard turn and it came awesome. And if we would have watched a trailer we would have been spoiled. The whole thing, that experience, that movie was just electric. And so I, we, I'm not know, we really don't watch any trailers because they'll, nowadays they'll show the practically the whole movie in the trailer.
Speaker 2:So the ending, and they'll show all the good bits.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and so when you're watching the movie you're piecing together. I saw that in a trailer. I saw that. I saw that Where's this other part? Oh, there it is, and you're like it ruins the movie, I agree. So we someone showed me at work this movie trailer and I said I saw a little bit of it. I go okay, I don't want to watch anymore. It's the new Ghostbusters movie coming out.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, yeah, that looks really good. It comes out March 22nd.
Speaker 1:Yes, Ghostbusters frozen empire. It has a lot of the original two Ghostbuster movie cast Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and then it has the cast of afterlife, the movie that they did before this one Paul Rudd and all these other young actors, and we didn't see afterlife. But I kind of want to see this movie bad, because Bill Murray and them are in it and I might just have to watch afterlife and then watch this too.
Speaker 2:They're in afterlife as well. Oh, I didn't know. All the originals are in there too.
Speaker 1:Okay, I didn't know that. So this one just looks like it got me excited. Watching it, I'm like, wow, all this, this room, now this is Ghostbusters and I thought that was good news to like look forward to, for it to everybody.
Speaker 2:Starting with afterlife, and it became they're doing a whole new like trilogy, yeah, with the old cast and the new cast.
Speaker 1:And they man, they did Harold Ramis so good yeah that's what I heard everybody talking about from the previous movie.
Speaker 2:It's a, it's some you. You kind of have to watch that one before you watch the new one because, all right, cool, it'll explain who them kids are that you're going to see in the second life, and I'll find another me?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'll find it on some streaming service I have. I practically have almost all of them.
Speaker 2:If you have Hulu, it's on Hulu.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I got that. So what's your good news?
Speaker 2:All right, so we know things are expensive, like shoes and clothes, and oh, what the heck.
Speaker 1:Dogs are expensive.
Speaker 2:I don't know my dad was calling things would get expensive and some people will earn more normal size or bigger than others, like taller, and the taller or the heavier you are, the more you're paying for this clothes or shoes.
Speaker 1:I understand that very much.
Speaker 2:Well, this one team family struggled to afford shoes for their team. The kid wears size 23. 23. How old is this kid? I think the city was only 16.
Speaker 1:Jesus, that, no, that's crazy. Yeah, what is he like? Seven sport.
Speaker 2:Yeah. So one person stepped in and they got. They got a big box into their house, okay, and Shaq had heard about them on the news, wow, and he found out where he lived. He sent this kid one dozen shoes tennis shoes, treads shoes. He sent different kind of shoes. He even sent Superman slippery Super the kid, oh my gosh. But nobody asked him. No, and these are the kind of people that they aren't bringing the media with them, yeah, to show, but like the person delivering it might have said something, or or the person selling the Shaq might have said something. You know, but Shaq is the young son hero here, because I'm sure that kids shoes aren't going to grow any bigger. Hopefully you've got no 23. That's almost two feet.
Speaker 1:Dude that I'm. I'm just about almost six, five, six, four, six five, depending on what gas station I go into, but I only got up to like size 13. And when I was a kid I'd be like 14 or like 15 if they're different width or length, but I couldn't imagine 22, dude, 23 or 23. You're already 3 inches.
Speaker 2:But yeah, I'm at 13 also and and you pay a couple extra dollars for that. Yeah, it's because the 23 23 that's not and Shaq sent tennis shoes, trash shoes, like it was really awesome.
Speaker 1:He should hook them up with what website or something to get pants and, you know, shirts maybe.
Speaker 2:We can talk. Yeah, he could always go there. Or what do you got for your second one?
Speaker 1:men, my second one is a great bit of news that everybody wants to hear this time of year, coming up on the summer month month, reese's is coming out with a new summer shape. You know they have like the eggs or the tree shapes for Christmas. Right, reese's is coming out with Reese's medals. Let, it is an honor of like 20 on metal. Yeah, it's an honor of the 2024 summer Olympics in Paris. They're having a. The Reese's mold looks like a circle metal with the ribbon on the top If you Google it and look at it and it's the chocolate and peanut butter, but just like the old other eggs during the other holidays. So they're gonna have the Reese's medals. So now, if we, if our wives let us which they won't, we will you and me can have a Olympic Reese's Eden contest with those medals.
Speaker 2:Sweet Cedar. So I'd be. You get that gold podium.
Speaker 1:I'll eat one and say yeah, I won. The winner gets diabetes and an insulin shot.
Speaker 2:Had to deal with diabetes in the last couple of weeks. Man.
Speaker 1:But it just proves that it's hilarious that Reese's is like hmm, there's a couple of months where we don't have no shapes, no holidays, no hearts, no trees. What can we do? Oh, the. Olympics. Let's jump on that.
Speaker 2:Let's make this the Paris Olympics, so Reese's about. In Italy, they made an exoskeleton that lets disabled users walk and stand, so people that who haven't walked because of paralysis.
Speaker 2:year in, like 20 years, they put this exoskeleton on and they could stand up and adjust their like around their height and stuff, so they remember right, and it helps because you know, like, if you see someone who is unable to walk or move their arms, they lose that muscle, yeah, you know. And then basically, that that's it, you know, but this it's, it's moving your legs, you know, and so it keeps that muscle.
Speaker 1:And you're with sitting down all the time or you're laying around, yeah.
Speaker 2:So it's. I don't know the company, it just said the Italian company made this exoskeleton.
Speaker 1:Awesome, that is cool man and you're by. Your blood and your muscles are all laying down constantly for years or whatever. So any kind of movement helps.
Speaker 2:Right, you know like I can imagine someone. I'm sure it's not gonna be cheap, you know, but for someone who's been wheelchair bound and and not doing things, to go in for a walk in the park, take, you know, doing things, that we take for granted. One little thing you know, you and I, we don't know what they're going through. You know and and we're just like, oh, we're just gonna go walk here, we're gonna go to school, or we don't really know the hassle that comes with what they got going on. You know, but imagine they'll be able to walk into a store on their own, no wheelchair, and like you said.
Speaker 1:So maybe there's there might be down the road a company that, because of the cost, like rent some out and have them. Okay, you want to go for a walk in the park, you could rent it and they'll help you get in it and sign a liability and then you can just go walk for an hour or something and then, just, you know, enjoy it, or even a lot. Yeah, it would. Or like making wishes and stuff like that.
Speaker 2:You know it's like Elon Musk. It hasn't been FDA approved for everyone, only 10 people he could perform the surgery on, not him. Yeah, they put this computer chip inside the person's brain who's like a quadriplegic no use of arms or legs and it links them up to electronics. They did the first person a couple weeks ago and he's now able to mentally move the mouse. Wow, mentally type on the page you know, and it's supposed to like help correct things in your brain and help regrow things you know like. Yeah, it's, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1:So a lot of people are against this, but if it gave me like a second chance at life if more people are like testing it through the years and it gets closer to where it does not make mistakes and stuff, this could, like you said, launch everything to change people's lives.
Speaker 2:Like a lot of people, it said that, like, if you have blindness, that'll be able to correct in your brain what's wrong. Wow, give you back your vision.
Speaker 1:Or something. You mean Maybe not 100% vision, but a little bit that anything would be better.
Speaker 2:Well, he promises full vision. Wow, where the people who's got spinal column issues. It's supposed to correct your nerves. Yeah, you know, like like reconnect stuff that's not connected, causing you to not be able to function right. You know, dude, honestly, you don't hear like rich people doing things all the time, you know, but it seems like Elon, he's got the money and you, you see all the stuff that he's trying to create. You know, whether it's trips to space, whether it's helping somebody walk again or see again or here again. That's amazing, man.
Speaker 1:more power to Elon, if it makes someone else try something like similar or better than what he's doing, maybe what he's doing isn't bad If it's going to help society more in that, you know, with technology Right, right, just give somebody some paying back that they lost.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know, it's like those little kids who are born deaf and they get hooked up into this sound thing that connects their ear drum to their brain and you see their reactions when they're able to hear their mom or their dad for the beer. Dude, that's hard to talk about.

Speaker 2:You know those people. Good for them, man, keep doing what you guys are doing. Not that any of you guys that do it Listen to his podcast, but if you do, yeah, keep doing what you're doing, Okay.
Speaker 1:Jim nice. The next one I have is the PWHL and people that don't know. Yeah, what that is is the professional women's hockey league. They have a hockey league now that is for women. It's just like the NHL, but it's women's hockey league. They just started it in January. It's awesome. The games are on YouTube.
Speaker 1:There's only six teams right now Ottawa, montreal, toronto, minnesota, boston and New York. The teams don't have names, they only have color jerseys at solid color jerseys, but they're working on it and there's only 24 games this year and next this fall. They're going to start where they want to adjust the months to, where the new season starts, and it's 32 games from November to May and they might add more teams for next year. But one of the new things they have they just announced a couple of days ago is their playoff and draft rules, and I think the NHL or other sports might jump on this, because everybody's losing their minds how awesome this is for the playoffs.
Speaker 1:The top four teams out of the six in the regular state the standings qualify for the playoffs. The first team will have the first place team who won the regular season. They will have a 24 hour window to select their semi final opponent. They choose the opponent out of the four, out of the other three, who they're going to play in the playoffs. To start, it's too wild. So you can pick a team you're rival with you want to eliminate from the playoffs if you're the best team or you could pick the weakest team. However, the advantage will make you win.
Speaker 2:That's really cool. It's like a real life chess game.
Speaker 1:You know, you choose them how you want to roll with it, and especially if that team, that the best team picks a team and then they beat the best team, that's like crazy.
Speaker 1:And then the other thing that the other rule they have is their draft rule coming up every year they're going to have a draft.
Speaker 1:So the team, once the team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs the two teams that didn't make it they begin with the rest of their games of the season. They begin earning draft order points and then if they get a win, they get a point. So the team, out of all of them that have, or out of the remaining ones that aren't in the playoffs, if that team with the most draft order points at the conclusion of the regular season will earn the first selection of their draft. So instead of, like how they said, the Blackhawks, tank the season after they didn't make the playoffs for that number one pick to be the worst team, so they got kind of a badard the new, the first round draft pick in this new system for the women's. You have to keep winning, do your best if you didn't make the playoffs because you want to win that draft spot, the number one draft pick. So it'll make the regular season more interesting and no one's going to take.
Speaker 2:You know, there's a lot of professional sports teams and it's all men based, yeah, and you have the women's Olympic hockey teams, who totally kick ass, you know, like, but other than the Olympics, they kind of know where to go Exactly. No, like it ends there, you know. Wait till the next Olympics and then we'll start training, you know. So this is very cool, man, let the females have a career, have a, have a professional career in sports, just like men do and the and the games they've had, they're selling out like 13,000, 15,000.
Speaker 1:They just had 19,000 fans for a women's hockey game.
Speaker 2:This is absolutely amazing. Yeah, you know, because most of the sports that women are they have is sexism. You know, like the lingerie football teams, you know, like why, you know and, and I mean it's eye candy, but again, let's take it more seriously. Yeah, let's take it, cause there's some females that are better than guys. And there comes the list of stuff.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they're really hitting. If you watch on YouTube they're they have their games on now until they get like a you know some company to show it on ESPN or someone, and they're really like hitting and just fighting and like they're not holding back and I'm like, wow, this is kind of cool to watch and exciting.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I can't wait, I can't. I hope it evolves good. Yeah, you know it sounds like the original seven that were in the men's hockey. Yeah, the original seven Now is now becoming the original six in the female hockey. Except Chicago wasn't in on that one.
Speaker 1:But that's what they're saying. If they add two more teams or four more teams this next year, are they going to put Chicago and a couple other hockey towns that are by us or that are famously?
Speaker 2:You got the WNBA, but media doesn't push them.
Speaker 1:And a lot of people say they're fans but they don't support the WNBA a lot.
Speaker 2:So I'm all for for the female hockey. Good that, that's good to hear, man. What's your good news? Scientists spot the brightest object ever. It's over 500 trillion times brighter than the sun. Holy crap, Dude, that's almost like a yeah, that's like a two second sunburn.
Speaker 1:There's no way you can get even close to that. My God, that's like that big.
Speaker 2:And I want to know how they measured 500, not like five times, but 500 trillion times. Like why can't we see that from where we are? Something that bright?
Speaker 1:Yeah, that has to be like oh yeah, so far away that there's no way we can see it. If the sun is what, how big it looks from how we are, and that's far.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know it'd be like damn it turn that light off. You know it's that's amazing. I got one more, but what do you got next, man? I don't have anything?
Speaker 1:Oh wait, yeah. Well, it's not a. It's a feel good story, but it's not. It's like a random fact slash story. Okay, it ties in with today, your birthday, mr Powers. It is also Dr Seuss' birthday, really, yes, the author of Green Eggs and Ham. Now, did you know? Dr Seuss wrote Green Eggs and Ham on a bet? Oh, he wrote it on a bet. His editor didn't believe he could write a book with 50 words or less, so he said oh yeah, watch this. And if you look at the Green Eggs and Ham, that book only has 50 words in it. And they just reused the words and he made the beam on the bet.
Speaker 2:Not eat Green Eggs and Ham with a fox, nor will I eat Green Eggs and Ham in a box.
Speaker 1:That's very creative and I'm with how he did that.
Speaker 2:You know we don't have people like that nowadays, you know, and if we do, they're not publicized. You know, to like social media, like back in the day. We need to do something about that.
Speaker 1:Again, back in the day. Oh my God.
Speaker 2:That's very cool man, and I did not know I shared a birthday with Dr Seuss. Yes, I got one more, One more. This is kinda so. You got a lot of mountaineers and skiers and tobogganers and stuff happens and the Avalanche happens and they get found, but they end up having frostbite in extremities and then they get amputated, you know, lose their hands.
Speaker 2:Well silent to this, you know, Together with the FDA, because the FDA approved this. It's a new drug to save limbs from frostbite. They found out how to reverse it, so it won't like turn black and unusual.
Speaker 1:The damage will be less.
Speaker 2:Well, it'll be like okay, I got a mild burn, oh, and it goes away. So people are gonna be losing hands and legs. And Wow, that's amazing. I mean, prince Harry said that he got frostbite on his kegnail, his little hairy yes, little Harold Harold. He's not quite as elegant as Harry, but I'm digging to see where science goes. And it's amazing, you know, it's just, they get hung up.
Speaker 2:You know the FDA controls everything and if they delay something then it's done. Were they yet to push it on the floor? Yeah, so people resort to go into other countries to get surgeries done or for people like ALS. I know a guy who, for Lou Gehrig's that was supposed to die but it still is because he takes some kind of rattle state serum Wow, and it's not FDA approved. So he has to keep going to Mexico to get this serum.
Speaker 2:You know, if a person wants to do something, yeah, and has an individual right, then they should be able to do that. You know, if it's an experimental surgery, I don't want to rely on other companies. Or one main thing the federal Doug, the federal Doug, federal drug administrator. I don't want them to control how I am, you know. So only better, you, man, when people are like walking around and it shouldn't be walking around, they can't hold us back any longer. Right, they have a disarray ballion, but that's everything I got. Man, we're gonna get out of here. We're kinda running along, yeah, but, jim, as always, man finishes off here.

So, as we promised earlier today, we would have an inside scoop and we said that we would try to get Jacob Roan to come on the podcast to talk about what happened. You heard it from us, what we need to hear from the man who people said he'd never wrestle again due to a major surgery on his shoulder. And honestly, man, it's good to have you back in wrestling, like you're saying back, like you've been on this podcast, man, but we've known each other a long time. Congratulations on making that comeback and appreciate it.
Speaker 3:I really do appreciate it and I know we go back a long time and it's the first time in a long time that I don't have to say you know that it's been a while, right, you know, just got to come back in a couple of weeks back now. Really got to let it settle in. Yeah, you know, like you mentioned, it was a long, long road back a long recovery torn labrum in my match and the end of 2022 with Richie Rothschild took a nasty spill to the outside and Jim Floor's not super forgiving, so put me in for a while and had surgery last year. You know months of rehab, physical therapy and then just really hammer away in the gym, finding a new place to train, just to build that confidence back up and, you know, get the body ready to even come back in.
Speaker 2:It was definitely a long road back, you know when fans first heard that you were making a comeback, you made your video. You would be back. You know there was like whispers amongst the public would you be the same as you were when you left? You know, because that was a big injury you had and a lot of people don't come back from that and, like you said, you hammered it out in the gym, you did your best and you ended up in the tag team and what should have been a great match against Punisher and Richie Rothschild. You had a great partner, sunset Strips Sensation, johnny Motley, who the fans love him just as much as they love you. It should have been like he's a cake that night, but it wasn't.
Speaker 3:No, you're right. I mean for the fans that were there, you know they seen it with their own eyes, you know. You know Motley turned his back on me at the last moment, looked like we were in a good position to really take over that match. For the fans that may not have missed it, you know we're nice double down. I was coming in to give Motley the hot tag, really expected him to take it home for us. We had the guys on the ropes and I'm still. It's two weeks out and it still blows my mind.
Speaker 3:Scott, you know the history I have. It's not just any tag partner right. I've tagged with Motley a handful of times in the past, been friends for years, you know, it goes back even farther. But you know, when I first met you almost 10 years ago, I'd go to your guys' shows and I was a kid in the stands watching him, you know, and I looked up to him and I couldn't imagine, you know, as a kid, that I'd grow up and be able to wrestle alongside him. So, looking up to him for all those years, you know, growing and becoming his friend, and for him just to really stab me in the back like that is unforgivable, it's absolutely disgusting. It blows my mind. Still, two weeks later, to this day, I don't understand why he hasn't reached out to me. He hasn't told me why. No reasoning at all. I know him and Richie have history in the past. I just figured he'd moved on and he was grown from that and I didn't have that. Never in the back of my mind would I figure that was happened, you know.
Speaker 2:I got to sit in the audience. I was sitting at a podcast table and we were doing commentary and we heard the change in the crowd. You know cause people thought oh here it is here. It is cause you were getting humbled. They were trying to hurt you and put you out again and you finally had that break where you went to go tag Miley and he jumps off the apron and lets you continue the beating, and not only the team that was opposing you was beating you, he comes in the ring and starts beating you too. The fans didn't understand. Nobody at Backbreaker understands. It's so crazy how Rothschild has this hold over some of the wrestlers. People are just asking why.
Speaker 3:Your guess is as good as mine, scott. Honestly, you know, like I said, I've had a few weeks to stew in it now and I could care less. I don't care about any excuses that he comes out with. You know, there's no reasoning behind that. Well, that'll ever justify that stab. I mean, if he was a man he could have told me his thoughts to the face. You don't stab somebody else in the back. That's a good coward. He's fallen behind Richie Rothschild and his rag-tab group of buddies all four on one. Really a bunch of cowards. And you know what, when I get Miley at Hammer Lock that March 23rd, just one on one, me and him in the ring, he is going to regret ever turning his back on me. Times are gonna get a lot harder for him, like you said.
Speaker 2:Hammer Lock March 23rd. That was the match that was first announced. People wanted it because now people wanna see you kick Johnny Miley's ass from one side of the gym to the other side. And you know, when this was all happening to you, the champ, dave Allen, told me let's go, let's go help Jake. And we stood up, but then Matt Duvarr and Dick Davis came out to help you. So either way, you would have had somebody coming out to help, whether it be me and Dave. But, man, you got two guys that came out of nowhere. Duvarr has a life change experience, dick Davis has a life change experience and you three favorites in the crowd. And there's so much excitement over this match coming up. I really hope you take Miley out, man.
Speaker 3:Dude, I'll tell you what you know. I appreciate you saying that and you know, having those guys that have your back especially in times like that when the guy you really thought had your back stabbed you in the back, well you know, really shows guys true colors. You know Matt Duvarr never stepped in the ring with him one time but he could see it from the back himself how messed up of the situation I was in Dick Davis, me and him. We've tagged up a few times in the past. Good history with him never had cross lines, me and him, straight and narrow always. And he's had my back.
Speaker 3:I've had his back on a few occasions. You know, to hear that you and Dave were ready to rock and roll, mike weren't. I mean that stuff means the world to me, man, and like I said, we're gonna even these tides. I don't care about his whole group. I mean I've had my fair share of matches with Richie, kurt, joseph Kujo whatever the hell he calls himself now, who knows and that dude is interfered in almost every match I've seen like I've ever had a backbreaker. But at the end of the day in March when I get Motley one-on-one, you know that's all we're here for. I don't care about the rest of them. Motley's the one that stabbed me in the back. He was the one that was supposed to be my friend Coming back. You know, my return match for almost a year and a half out in just to be spoiled by a former friend is absolutely disgusting. He's absolutely scumbag and dead in my eyes.
Speaker 2:You know I've been on the opposing side in Kurt Joseph's corner as his manager in the upper class while he was facing you. It's a low in my life, but I needed to do it at the time to kind of find out who I really was and then come back out strong. But if you ever need anything, man, if you ever need somebody to back you up and then a locker room man, you can always count on me. On there Again, the match is hammerlocked. March 23rd at St Mary's Hildebrandt Hall. March 23rd that's the only match that's been announced so far. That's the only match that matters. You got a big thing coming up big math. You know how are you gonna go against Motley when you know Kurt Joseph's walking around like a shark Punisher's just eager to beat somebody, ritchie Rothschild's eager to beat somebody, and it's just you, man. So it's basically you versus three or four. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3:Yeah, there is four of them. But like you said, man, we've crossed paths in the past, like you mentioned, and you know those guys coming around to really stick up and watch my back. It means everything and I'm really glad that you've came through and gone back to your roots and some of that pride that you add back in the military serving days and now that you're now rolling around with those guys, it means everything. And just for Dick Davis to come out there and help Matt DeWar we all watch each other's back from the locker room and it doesn't matter if you know they got managers out there or not. If stuff gets out of line, I know those guys will be out there a hundred out of a hundred times and again, this is Jake Rohn, and if you guys are in the area in Griffith anybody that's listening to this come check it out.
